*Wren's P.O.V*

After the meeting with the Council, which I successfully avoided having to meet anyone new, I found myself even more nervous. I had no clue when I was going to meet Draven's Creator and I was terrified of what she was going to think of me. What if she agreed to take me in and then decided she hated me? I couldn't handle the idea of being rejected by someone else.

Perhaps that was why I had shut myself in my home for the last week. I had turned down Ezekiel's offers to go out as I really wasn't in the mood to be around a bunch of humans right now. I had also turned down the offer to meet Cassiopeia's Coven members. I was too on edge to get along well with a bunch of strangers.

So really it was no surprise to me that when there was a crisp knocking sound on my door, my first idea was to ignore it and hide. However that proved to be useless rather quickly so instead I tried to peer out the peephole.

I didn't recognize the person who was standing outside my door. She was a tall Indonesian woman, her skin a soft bronze color that complimented her dark brown dress. Her hair was a deep black color that made her light red eyes glow. For the first time in a while, my breath caught in my throat as I realized that she must be Draven's Creator.

I tried to mentally prepare myself for a moment before I moved to unlock the door. I hesitantly opened it as I took a small deep breath. While I didn't need to breathe, the feeling of fresh air in my lungs was quite soothing.

"Wren I presume?'' The woman's voice was slightly rough, a hint of an Italian accent in her voice. I nodded my head as her eyes combed over me, clearly studying me. I shrunk under her gaze, my fangs digging into my bottom lip.

"I'm afraid I don't know your name," I said simply as I shifted from foot to foot. The woman smiled softly, revealing a set of fangs.

"My name is Citra," the woman, Citra I corrected myself, said. My eyes furrowed at her name for a second before a question came to mind.

"Do all members of the Council have C names? So far I've only met two and you both have names that start with C," I said. Citra chuckled softly at the question before she shook her head.

"Just a coincidence I'm afraid," Citra said. I suddenly realized how awkward it was to just be standing in my doorway talking to her.

"You can come in if you like," I said as I stepped back. Citra stepped inside, her hand brushing against my arm as she moved past me. "I'm sorry if my house is a bit messy, I was a bit distracted this week," I stated as I shut the door before following her into the living room.

"It's fine, I would be a bit more surprised if you weren't a bit distracted. I suppose knowing that you would have to be around someone you've never met before and not knowing when I was going to show up did not help," Citra said simply. I nodded my head as Citra reached into her purse, pulling out a bag of blood.

My fangs pierced my bottom lip as I stared at it. I could feel my hunger suddenly spike at the sight of blood and I forced myself to look away from it. I could feel Citra's eyes lingering on me for a moment before she held out the bag of blood. I hesitated for a moment before I took it from her.

I hadn't eaten at all today so I struggled with not ripping the bag open to drink the blood all at once. Instead I carefully bit into it, the flood of blood that entered my mouth was like ecstasy to me. There was something different about this blood, it was quite a bit sweeter than the coppery blood that most humans had.

"Take your time little one, there will be plenty more blood like that for you in the future," Citra said softly. I nodded my head slightly as I carefully pulled back, having drunk enough blood that it didn't risk spilling out of the bag. "First time drinking vampire's blood?" she asked.

"Yes," I nodded my head after a moment. The taste lingered in my mouth and I savored it, barely refraining from drinking from the bag again.

"I do apologize that you were turned the way that you were. Normally I keep an eye on all of those who I turn but eventually they all want to leave. If I had known that he would ever do such a thing as to turn someone against their will and leave them to suffer on their own, I would have ended him myself," Citra informed me with a small frown. I was a bit surprised at her apology as it wasn't her fault I had been turned.

"It's not your fault, it's his," I shrugged my shoulders. I had never been good at knowing how to respond to people's apologies so I decided that my answer was good enough.

"I still hold some responsibility for not keeping a better eye on him," Citra said softly as she sat down on the edge of the couch. "Which is why I agreed to take on the responsibility of ensuring that you are well taken care of," she stated. I opened my mouth to speak before closing it after a moment. "I'm sure you have many questions, you may ask them if you wish," she offered as I sat next to her.

I found conversation with Citra to be easier than talking to most. She gave off an aura that made me inherently have some trust in her and so it was easy for me to ask questions even the ones that I would normally would hold back for fear of being laughed at. I also found out more information on Citra. She was one of the first vampires to have ever existed and she had two wives. Citra promised me that I would meet them soon but that they didn't want to overwhelm me.

I was quite curious about her wives I had to admit. She had warned me that they might be a bit much, especially as it had been a while since there had been a new vampire that they were allowed to coddle. For some reason, those words sent shivers down my spine.
