Fear is cruel and inept
It uses its wiles to connect
With tendrils of doubts choking our minds
Leaving us openly blind.
It challenges us to grow
Against the onslaught of lures
Pitting us into the fjords
It makes us firm stand, for sure.
It crumbles ourselves in our eyes
Reminds us forever of the failures of insight
Vicious is its hold
Leaves the heart in the cold.
Delve deep inside
Where love, faith and hope reside
Into the realms of ethereal
Lies the tendency to become our true self--real.
Look fear in the face
Stay unfazed
Acknowledge the imperfections
Striving to be the best you can be.
Is a task never-ending
Yet, the fulfillment is worth fighting
The glow in the soul never grows old
