Don't come to ask about me
My wounds have sealed
Don't guilt me into forgiving
My emotions are a done deal.
Life doesn't stop after anyone leaves
'Tis hard to feel
Fury rises and hides in the eyes
As I take everything in stride.
Some scars never fade
They stay put--a part of the facade
They help drown sorrows in the heart
It isn't easy to fall apart.
Be true, they say
And honesty always pays
In reality, truth is shunned
And straight-forwardness is dumb.
Silence works best
In a world where you are regularly put to the test
Open your heart only to a few
And let the rest assume.
Staying low-key takes a toll
When rumours float uncontrolled
Let the malignants have their run
Truth surely shines like the morning sun.
