Numb with apprehensions
I stumble towards success
I wobble towards the light
I've my goals in sight.
Free from the clutches of fear
Silencing the doubts near
Destroying the shards of selfishness
My dreams are clear.
My arms spread out to feel
What I can unsee
A sea of tenderness envelops my eyes
As it tries to stop the brimming of sighs.
A single drop splashed
Creates a storm of determination backlash
In waves upon waves of torrential rain
I compose myself to stay sane.
Reigning in the fury unleashed
In my dreams I believe
Each step taken
Lights the paths shaken
I look my goals in the eye
Dare them to defy
Challenge me as they should
My aspirations are bigger than my wounds.
