Clouds burst on the land
Drenching the strands of life with elan
Light shimmies from within
With the faith of dawn it brings.
A dream of a lifetime
Starts with action
Tempered with hard work
Courage has grit intact.
The unspoken words in the heart
Are hidden beneath a broken vault
Afraid to surface
For fear of what the eyes might profess.
Simmering scars they hold
Sometimes it feels so all alone
With the mouth in a sheath
Grief's a raging inferno underneath.
Silence is all that's left
Covered by a shield of zest
Escalated by efforts galore
Challenges create a drive for success.
