The next day couldn't have started off worse. Lacey had been sat at the kitchen table but left to her room as soon as Jax walked in. As he sat down he felt like there were ants on his foot. So he looked down and jumped up outta his chair. On the floor against the wall panel was a colony of ants, all crawling back and forth.
"LACEY!"
Lacey jumped, her fathers loud booming voice scaring her. Quickly she scampered across the floor to her closet.
"Lacey! Get in here, NOW!" As quickly as she could she ran to the kitchen where her angry father was. His expression was thunderous. Nostrils were flared, his eyes cold and deadly, fists clenched. He terrified her.
"Explain this to me now." Her shimmering blue eyes glanced fearfully to his face. She did not want to explain anything to her father.
Lacey quickly but quietly explained herself. When she was done he grabbed her upper arm and spanked her bottom before pushing her out the door.
"You better behave when you're at school."
