Xie Lian only kept quiet for a second. Although Quan YiZhen was young and still relatively naïve when it came to certain behaviors, he immediately grasped the gravity of the situation. Taking a risk and guiding him to realize his shixiong was very much close to the Crown Prince was the last thing that needed to happen, in such a situation.

«You do know about it, that's... good», he commented, clearing his throat. «Since this robe is a wicked object, it has thousands of forms. There are millions of clothes in this world, so to search for such a robe is no different from seeking a needle in the ocean».

Truthfully, only the creator of the Brocade Immortal themselves could recognize it, no matter what form it took. It was a thought Xie Lian mulled over for a long time, after witnessing the tragedy that was Yin Yu's banishment from the heavens.

Now, thinking back to what Hua Cheng showed him and with much more knowledge about the heavenly Court, a doubt was starting to flourish in his mind. however, he didn't give it much space.

It was neither the place nor the time to dwell on that.

«What should we do?».

Right, what should they do?

Hua Cheng, in current predicament, was unable to help them. He could try, and he probably would if Xie Lian asked, but the god didn't want him to overexert himself. They already had no idea how much time the ghost would need to fully recover from the dispersion of spiritual energy caused my Mount Tong'lu acting up, to risk even more when it was unnecessary was to feed dangerous flames.

Xie Lian crossed his arms, one hand soon raising to stroke his chin in thought: «Ghosts and demons who get their hands on the robe will usually transform into a merchant, and beseech people to buy or exchange», he explained. It was a knowledge coming from the past, stories stitched together by many different people, but Xie Lian didn't doubt it to still be happening; ghosts didn't change their way of doing things, unless one was to wait hundreds of years. It was useless, after all, to change habits when one's dead. «Let's go into town and see if we can catch wind of any such occurrences».

Since ghosts would be more interested in such an object compared to mortals, obtaining underground information from the ghost realm would be much faster and efficient; the things was, with Hua Cheng being severely weakened, Xie Lian thought it too dangerous to roam where the undead dwelled.

For good measure, while putting up a show of reflecting over some stuff, he even contacted Yin Yu to ask about the state of Ghost City. For he received in response was fragmented and hard to discern, the Waning Moon Officer's voice losing volume every now and again.

Apparently, Ghost City was in complete disarray, more chaotic and riddled with panic than it was when both Xie Lian and Hua Cheng left in a hurry. The influence of resentful and ghostly energy was so strong that even Yin Yu was having troubles communicating with the mortal realm, despite being linked with Xie Lian's array.

Ghost City was definitely not an option then.

"Don't take too many risks, Yin Yu", the god advised him, not without a hint of worry in his voice. "If the situation gets too out of control, leave Ghost City. The city can be fixed, but you're not replaceable".

Only after hearing an agreement from him did Xie Lian ended the communication. An order like that didn't need to be discussed with his husband, whom he knew would say the exact same thing – albeit with a bit more bite to it – so he turned his attention back to Quan YiZhen.

The young martial god was still looking at him, an expectant look in his eyes, so Xie Lian nodded at him to get up. immediately, he rose to his feet and followed him for a few steps, but collapsed again not too long after, face shaded with purple and looking about to throw up.
