--Reminder: -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. is a change of POV, ^^^^^^^^ marks a NSFW scene. You can skip the latter if you want to avoid it. This time around things get pretty... intense. No joke. Careful if you feel uncomfortable.

Please, keep in mind I'm not writing an OOC Xie Lian, mind the circumstances.--

In the end, Jun Wu couldn't condemn Xie Lian, and no one could speak against that decision. The meeting was called off immediately after the Crown Prince left the hall, with nothing raised about the bizarre absence of Ming Yi, so both Feng Xin ad Mu Qing headed to the palace of the former in order to get their thoughts back in their places.

Both thought they should be used to Xie Lian scaring the shit out of the Heavenly Court, after the first instances, but Feng Xin was still unbelievably shocked at what he just witnessed and heard.

What he truly couldn't wrap his head around was the fact that one. the ghost in the Kiln was none other than Qi Rong, who created nothing but trouble to Xie Lian – and, generally, to XianLe – in the past, and that two. Xie Lian not only willingly helped him get inside the Kiln, he also explicitly defended both him and He Xuan.

No, actually, scratch that. He couldn't wrap his head around the fact Xie Lian was the one who ended up killing Bai WuXiang. Even if he believed the rumors to some extent, Feng Xin never truly believe they could be true. Secretly, he hoped they weren't.

But they were, and that raised a whole slew of new questions: where did that happen? When did Xie Lian manage to carry out such a feat? Why did Jun Wu take the victory as his own? Who actually decided between Xie Lian and Jun Wu? What happened after Xie Lian was left alone?

By that point, Feng Xin could only imagine both the king and the queen were already dead. If they weren't, the martial god didn't think Xie Lian would have rejected his second ascension, no matter how he reached it. He would have accepted it, if only to help his family out of the ditch they had fallen into. But not only he rejected it, he fought the Heavenly Emperor and injured him in the process, wrecking havoc in the heavens as if possessed by some evil soul.

Overwhelmed, Feng Xin crashed down on a cushion next to the table in his palace's main room: «What. The fuck», he commented, not knowing how else to express his bewilderment. «Am I imagining things? Is this really happening?».

It felt like a bad dream, for sure.

Unfortunately, when Mu Qing sat down in front of him and offered him a jar of fragrant alcohol, he had to admit it was far too real to be a dreamscape.

Mu Qing weighed the second liquor jar in his hand, unsure whether or not he should drink it, and uncorked it with a sigh: «There is a much bigger scheme than the one we're able to see», he said after taking a sip, grimacing at the strong taste of alcohol on his tongue. It tingled on the way down, burning his throat in a less-than-pleasant way, but he could see the appeal of getting drunk. At least he wouldn't have to deal with that mess for a couple hours.

If his cultivation allowed it, Mu Qing was certain that day would be the perfect one to get absolutely hammered.

«Either we ask him, or we don't. Didn't you see Shi QingXuan and Pei Ming seemed on edge, too? Ling Wen a well, now that I think about it. And that brat, Quan YiZhen», the martial god added, a frown deepening the shadows on his handsome features.

After Xie Lian stormed off in anger, leaving the air itself sparkling with shed power, Mu Qing let his gaze wander for a second, if only to counteract the overwhelming shock wrecking his emotions. Witnessing Xie Lian, of all people, outright screaming at Jun Wu, borderline insulting him at times, had been enough of a wake-up call, honestly.
