«Black Water?! What the fuck?! What in the fucking hell-».

«Will you shut up?», He Xuan spat out between his teeth, already annoyed to hell and back by that screeching god. «Do you want the entire Heavenly Capital to come here? Are you that dense?».

Normally he wouldn't speak so much, and neither waste such a lowly language towards a heavenly official, but the ghost was already regretting the decision of accompanying Shi QingXuan in his true form. He did, after all, foresee that those two would react badly to his presence.

Feeling a headache coming up, Shi QingXuan swatted at He Xuan with his fan and then glared at Feng Xin and Mu Qing. Despite his non-threatening aura, the two martial god luckily took the hint and sat back down on the divan the jumped up from; the frown on the Wind Master's face was bizarre enough to not let others complain about it.

«He-xiong, be nice», he told the ghost, a reprimand more than an advice. «You can't blame them».

«I can blame you for dragging me here».

«I didn't drag you here, I asked you to come and you accepted».

Leaving the grumbling ghost to his half-hearted complaints, Shi QingXuan walked up to the martial gods and stared at them, arms crossed: «Do you understand?».

Mu Qing swallowed dry, more confused than he'd ever been in his lifetime. Not only here was a Calamity in the Heavenly Capital, it was the same one that ruthlessly killed Shi Wudu in the past and left Shi QingXuan without a brother.

And Shi QingXuan seemed perfectly fine, his relationship with Black Water more than friendly judging by their interactions.

If Xie Lian hadn't pulled the same exact stunt, bringing a Ghost King right in the heart of the heavens, Mu Qing would feel completely stumped. Instead, the only thing he couldn't wrap his head around was the reason why the Wind Master – of all people! – was so friendly and accommodating with that ghost.

Aside from that, he understood.

And nodded.

«Black Water is a close friend of Xie Lian and Crimson Rain», he said, shocked by how much effort he had to put into his voice to avoid it from cracking.

Happy that the point came across easily, the Wind Master waved his fan: «That's good, you get it. So please, refrain from trying to kill or maim him, eh? We're on good terms».

What.

The.

Fuck.

Good terms!?

«How?!?».

Shocked to the bone, Feng Xin stared at both of them with wide eyes, unable to understand what the fuck was going on. Sure, he got the part where Black Water was close to those two, but all the rest? Shi QingXuan being so calm? Black Water being in the heavens? Them being together?

«How did you even come up here?!», he asked again, that time talking to the ghost.

How blind could those damned officials be? The answer was literally under his nose, yet that pest was still incapable of finding it.

Sometimes He Xuan really agreed, when Hua Cheng called the heavens a "well-dressed, poor-mannered joke".

«I'm always up here», the ghost answered, voice flat and uninterested. «You see me almost every day. I can't believe the only one who saw through the illusion is Pei Ming». Shi QingXuan gave him a glare for outing the god like that, but it wasn't like He Xuan cared all that much. He literally just showed himself to two more martial gods, that they knew didn't make a difference. As long as they didn't know the reason behind Pei Ming's knowledge, all was fair game.
