Linny being Quinn’s boss is a nightmare she believes she can never truly overcome, especially when her boss goes to her desk an hour before the office building closes to give her more work that she has to do by the end of the day, even though said work has to be done by her boss.

“Quinn!” Linny says, then Quinn puts her phone down on her desk and looks at her boss, who puts a stack of folders by her desk.

“I need to have these articles looked over before the end of the day. Figure out which ones can be featured on the magazine, which ones can be salvaged and which ones can be thrown to the trash,” Linny says, then Quinn looks at her watch.

“There are at least 30 articles in this pile, Linny. Assuming each article needs at least 5 minutes of reading time, I won’t be able to submit these by the end of the day. I’m already barred from working overtime,” Quinn says, then Linny rolls her eyes.

“Quit whining. You have time to read about your ex yet you don't even have time to do your job?” Linny says after grabbing Quinn’s phone, which is showing a news report where Mac publicly addresses his injuries and announces that he is planning to file charges on Brad for assault.

“May I just remind you that the reason why he broke up with you is because he realised that you are unlovable. He was attracted to you, Quinn, and you fell into his trap and showed him your true colours, which ultimately drove him away. He doesn't care about you anymore, so why do you still care about him?” Linny says, upsetting Quinn.

Quinn gets a quick flashback from her family life and remembers exactly how unlovable she was. From not being asked on dates to making only a limited number of friends, she immediately thinks that Linny is right. Just as she is about to surrender to her boss with a tear, she remembers the poem she reads almost every night and the words Brad made her promise to remember.

You deserve love, Quinn, no matter how much you push it away.

She thought that if Brad can be unbothered by his manager’s senseless comments, she can try to not let Linny get under her skin.

“I don’t have enough time for what you’re making me do. That’s different from me having time to do things outside of work.”

“Do you think I care? You’re just upset because I caught you slacking off. Anyway, if you need more time, you have the option to start the job now. It’s as simple as that.”

“Even if this job that you assigned to me is actually your job and you’re just making me do it because it’s always my ideas that get Michelle's approval, not yours?” Quinn asks rhetorically, making Linny furious.

“What did you just say?”

“You heard me,” Quinn nonchalantly says, making Linny cross her arms.

“That’s quite the serious accusation.”

“But it’s the truth, isn’t it? My ideas only become your ideas because you take all the credit, and they’re always the ones Michelle approves to be put on the magazine,” Quinn says, looking straight into Linny’s eyes.
