Race Day: Nathalie stood patiently at the garage. The race had ended but it wasn't what Ferrari had expected and hoped for. She knew what to expect in times like this.

She smiled at a few mechanics who greeted her. That was until she noticed her best friend. Her smile faltered a bit. They're eyes met and he let out a sigh of relief.

The moment Charles caught sight of Thalie it was like a big boulder was taken off his shoulders. Given he was still upset but at least, she was there.

They walked towards each other, meeting in the middle. Thalie didn't need to hear anything from Charles to figure out what he needed and wanted.

Standing on her tippy toes, she wrapped her arms around his neck. He let out a sigh of relief and wrapped his arms around her waist, nuzzling his face into her neck.

Thalie closed her eyes as she rubbed his back. She didn't have to say anything. Just the way she hugged him was enough for Charles.

Even without words, the two best friends had learned how to cater to each other when they need it.

As much as the hug was warm and comforting, it was Charles who pulled away first. She smiled at him, "Ready to go?"

He raised an eyebrow at her, "I thought you had a shoot?" he asked. Charles had Thalie's schedule memorized every week, just so he knew when she will be there or not at the race.

She shrugged, "My best friend needs me." She simply said. All of a sudden Charles heart melted. It wasn't the first time that Thalie was willing to drop her work to be there for him.

But Charles knew it was more than the fact that Ferrari did not reach their goals for the race. He sent her a knowing look and she sighed, "I saw the gossip tweets. Why didn't you tell me?" she asked.

He simply shrugged at her, "It was a long time coming. Me and Giselle weren't going to work. I kind of got that the moment she snubbed you the first time I introduced the both of you."

Thalie chuckled, she was not fazed. Despite knowing her boundaries and to respect whoever Charles would be dating at the time, she always believed that her best friend would never throw away their friendship for a girl that he just met.

"But still, you said Giselle was great-"

"She didn't like you and I felt like she got bored of me." That stung, it hurt Thalie whenever her best friend's relationship doesn't work.

Despite the media portraying him as someone that would hop relationships and seemed to move on quickly, she knew when Charles really cared and invested on the relationship. And he did when it came to Giselle.

He tried to make it work, he tried to find a common ground between her and Thalie. But never came up.

"I'm sorry Cha." She said honestly. He chuckled and nodded, "Like I said, I saw it coming."

Charles Leclerc did not deserve that, at all. Nathalie always believed that Charles deserved everything that was good in the world. She did not know how to give it to him but if she could, she would have.

"Let's go home?"

"Okay."

As they walked away, they did not realize the two Alpine drivers watching from their garage. Pierre groaned as Kiara laughed. She turned to him with a smirk, opening her palm and motioned for him to pay up.

He grumbled and placed two bills on her palm. "How do you call shit so quickly?" he asked. Kiara smirked and patted his back, "Because I know our best friends and clearly, Thalie hasn't lost her touch at all. Still having that effect on Charles."

"Yeah, I guess you're right."
