Peaceful lunch was what Octavia expected. Nothing just catching up after the Silverstone race but then again, Thalie had other plans. Plans that she had took her time thinking about it.
"I like Charles." Octavia who was sipping her drink accidentally spit out her drink. Thalie looked at her worriedly, the older woman sent her a shocked look. "You what?"
The model let out a breath and said it again, "I like Charles." She said as calm as she can. The two women stared at each other, Octavia trying to make sense of what will happen next.
But then Thalie looked like she was serious. Like she thought about it and Octavia didn't have to ask because the model sighed and started to explain. "I thought about this, all these years Charles has been there and I have been there. We're just there and these days and weeks, its different. Like him trying to find someone, I don't want him to go through that anymore.
"Charles deserves so much better and I want to be that person. Because I know him the best, and he knows me." Thalie said with a sigh.
Octavia stared at her and smiled, "I know I have been saying that you like Charles but please don't say you like him just because he needs you. That's not fair."
But then Thalie smiled, "For all the years I've known Charles, giving him what he need is not enough. You have to love him and care for him and I realized that I have been doing that for years and I don't want to stop. Because Charles has this beautiful soul and in the end that's what I like about him."
The women continued to stare at each other again, and Thalie spoke again, "I know its sudden but honestly I realized it too late." She said. Octavia finally let go of the stare and let out a relieved laugh, "You know what Thals..."
The model hummed, motioning for her to continue and Octavia did, "I think you're not too late. I think you are in perfect timing, because honestly if you realized too early, you would be hurt because he keeps looking for love and it wouldn't be pretty. But now, he calmed down, I think it's the perfect timing."
Thalie sighed, "Okay...I realized, do you think he will too?" she asked. Octavia simply smiled and nodded, "I think he slowly is."
"Hopefully he does..." Thalie said before welcoming the waiter that brought their food. Octavia continued to study her friend, she had hoped for the best for her friends. And she hoped that this realization of Thalie will lead them to finally good place and a place of love.
