Media Day: The Ferrari boys had just finished their interview with Angel and were walking back to their hospitality. Once they arrived and walked inside, Carlos finally asked the nagging question in his mind.
"So, no Inez?" The older driver asked. Charles hummed and turned to him, "You know we broke up Carlos."
"Well, can you blame me for asking? I mean for all I know you guys might just be taking a break." He reasoned. But the Monegasque shook his head, "No. We aren't taking a break. We are broken up."
Carlos hummed and nodded, "Alright. Well, new track, new race. You might find someone new ay?" he teased. Charles chuckled and shrugged, "I don't know mate. I'm kind of getting tired of being let down and just tired of the getting to know stage." He admitted.
"Maybe, and this is just a thought, maybe if you look around you might find someone that has never let you down and you already know." Carlos said.
Charles looked at him completely confused, "And where will I find someone like that?" Carlos couldn't help but facepalm himself, he could not believe that Charles still did not realize what he meant. He knew many dense and confused people like Lando for example but he was not this frustrated with his muppet friend like he was with his Monegasque friend.
"You know what you'll realize soon." He said but before he could continue their conversation, he was cut off by the ringing of Charles' phone.
The younger driver glanced at his phone and smiled, Carlos already knew, he smirked, "I see. I'll leave you be now."
MONACO: July 2023
Thalie bit her lip as she waited for Charles to pick up. She had heard about the break up through Twitter Gossip profiles but not from her best friend. She was worried, as she always has been when it came to Charles.
He may have gone through this a lot but it always worried her still.
A few more rings in, Charles finally answered.
"Bonjour Thals!" he greeted. Although worried, Thalie couldn't help but chuckle, "Bonjour Cha." She answered.
"What may I do for you?" he asked. Thalie let out a sigh, "Why didn't you tell me?"
Charles can hear the worry in his best friend's voice. He sighed, "I see. You have heard-" "I did. And like usual, you did not tell me."
Thalie heard him sigh again, "I'm sorry. I just, don't want to think about it again. It'll pass like it always does." It was her turn to sigh, "Which is why I'm worried. Cha don't you think..." "Don't I think what? That I should calm down a bit? That I slow down? Actually look for something serious? Don't you think I'm doing that?" he answered. As if something snapped in him.
"Cha, I didn't mean to offend you. I-I'm just worried." She said and apologized. Charles shut his eyes and gulped, realizing he had just snapped.
"No. I'm sorry its just Carlos also talked to me about it and honestly I also see what they call me online and I- am I really that bad Thalie?" he suddenly asked.
The girl sighed and leaned on her couch as Dandan the dog cuddled onto her lap. "You aren't. Maybe you just haven't met the right person yet." She answered as she patted her now sleeping dog.
"Maybe. But Carlos said something interesting earlier." He said and this intrigued the girl. "What did he say?"
"That I may have met the person that hasn't let me down at all and knows me already." He said unfazed.
"Do you know who he means?" she asked. Charles let out a bitter laugh, "I wish I did then it would be easier for me won't it?"
Thalie let out a sigh and nodded, "Yeah. Maybe you'll see soon one day."
