Post FP2: Charles was in a high mood. It was a great free practice run, the driver was feeling excited and happy and he had only one person in mind to share this moment with.
He knew for a fact that his best friend was also celebrating her newest brand deal and was out with her friends and workmates. And he knew he shouldn't disturb them, that Thalie deserved to celebrate but he wanted to share the happiness and giddiness to her.
He was waiting for her to answer, the line has been ringing for a while now and the excitement was starting to die down and the worry was starting to settle in. Charles knew that Thalie can take care of herself, the group had went to a bar that he knew, it was the regular bar that they would go to. But she was not answering.
"Hi! I may not be available right now, but you can leave a message after the beep."
Charles sighed and hang up, with a pursed lip, he decided to call Octavia instead. His worry getting the best of him, one thing was sure with him; no matter how hammered Thalie is, she would answer her phone.
A few rings were all it took for Octavia to answer the phone. Charles was welcomed with the sound of booming music, "Tavi?" he asked.
Shuffling was heard, "Charles, hey!" Tavia greeted but it sounded like she was struggling. "Hey, I know you girls are celebrating but is Thals with you? She isn't answering my calls-"
"Thalie! No! Ugh- hold on Charles." Tavia cut the driver off. This made Charles worried, "What's going on Tavi?" he asked.
Tavia did not answer but rather continued to try to get a hold of Thalie. "No, listen Thals, I have someone on the phone for you-"
"No! I missed Charlie's call." Charles finally heard her voice. His heart melted as he heard Thalie argue with Tavi about not being able to answer Charles' call.
"I know but look, I have Charles here-"
"Charlie!" Shuffling was heard again and he waited patiently, and he didn't have to wait that long, "Charlie..." Thals' voice was heard.
Despite knowing how drunk she was, this made Charles smile, just the sound of her voice, "Hi Thalie." He answered.
A gasp of excitement was heard, "Charlie! I'm sorry..." This made Charles chuckle, "It's okay. Are you having fun?" he asked.
He heard her hum and he can only imagine her nodding, "Yeah! But I don't like this anymore."
"What do you not like anymore?" he asked confused. He heard her huff, "Not being able to be with you. You're so far away Charlie." She stumbled.
Charles' eyebrows furrowed and he frowned, "I know. But we'll be together soon-"
"No! You don't get it Charlie. I want to be with-" "Okay Thals, I think it's time to go home." Octavia cut her off.
"Wait Tavi-"
"No! Don't take Charlie away please." Charles heard Tavi sigh, "Well we're going home, are you going to keep talking to Charles?"
Thalie hummed and nodded, "I will. I need my Charlie." She whined and this made Charles' heart drop, she needs him.
Tavi was about to say something but Charles spoke, "I won't go anywhere Thals but you have to promise me that you will listen to Tavi."
"I promise. Just don't hang up Charlie."
"I won't."
As he listened to Tavi lead Thalie back in the car and listened to his best friend ramble about the craziest things. Once the car was off, that's when Thalie started to whisper, "Charlie."
He chuckled, "Yeah?" he asked. "I miss you." She whispered making him smile wider. "I miss you too."
He then heard her sigh happily, "Charlie..." "Yes Thalie?"
"You know what I'm thankful for?"
"What?"
"My Charlie." Thalie said. This made Octavia to look at her friend who was sitting in her passenger seat. She was about to grab the phone, but then a silver lining appeared in her mind, maybe having Thalie drunk ramble to Charles, it would bring them together.
"Because I don't know what I would without him. He's my favorite person on the planet."
Charles didn't realize it but his heart fell. Hard on the ground.
"We're home Thals."
"Can Charlie stay on the phone?" she asked. Charles chuckled, "I'll stay for as long as you want me to."
"Okay. We can go inside Tav." Thali said. Charles smiled and listened carefully as Thalie was helped by Tavia to get ready.
He was also getting ready to leave the track when he heard his best friend again, "Charlie..."
"Yeah?"
"Tu représentes le monde pour moi." (Translation: "You mean the world to me.")
Charles smiled wide, "Tu es mon monde." (Translation: "You are my world.")
