Del, Lucas, Max and Dustin sat on the couch in front of Mr and Mrs Wheeler, Mr and Mrs Sinclair, Ms Henderson and the cops.
"What exactly were you all doing at the lake?" Officer Powell asked.
"Uh... It's comp..." "We were... We were just going for a walk" they all spoke over each other.
"A walk? At 9 p.m.?" Officer Callahan interrogated.
"To the lake. We were gonna take a little swim. Little night swim" Dustin answered squeakily.
"Dusty. Someone was just murdered there" Ms Henderson sounded appalled.
"Yeah, we... we didn't realize that until we got there" Dustin told her.
"That's why we didn't swim" Del added.
"And Nancy, was she with you at this night swim?" Karen asked.
"No" Max answered.
"Yes" Dustin nodded.
"We're not sure" Lucas told them.
"She was there. Then she left. It's all a little confusing" Del settled.
"That's when you guys came" Lucas fake smiled.
"Right. Then they dared me to say what I said" Max added.
"Oh, yeah. About the killer" Dustin and Lucas laughed.
"You're lucky you didn't get shot" Ted frowned.
"Have you had any contact with Eddie?" Powell asked.
"That psycho... freak killer? God, no" Dustin over dramatised.
"Nope. Absolutely not" Del added.
"No. We haven't heard from him" Max agreed.
"We barely know the guy"
"Who?"
"Oh, that's a bunch of bull" Erica spoke up.
"Erica!" Mr and Mrs Sinclair scolded.
"I mean, you realize they're lying. The whole couch is on fire" she rolled her eyes.
"Erica" They scolded again.
"Just the facts" she shouted back.
"Are you lying to these policemen, Dusty?" Ms Henderson asked.
"No" Dustin squealed again.
"Lying to cops is a crime, son" Mr Sinclair told Lucas.
"I'm not lying" He denied.
"The fire is consuming us" Erica continued.
"Threaten them with a little jail time. Maybe that'll loosen their lips" Ted suggested.
"You wanna send our kids to jail?" Mrs Sinclair asked.
"He didn't mean it like that" Karen defended her husband.
