you look for me in the backyard
maybe i'm a silhouette, no meat
pulling teeth
maybe i'm storing them ten centimeters under ground
turning my mouth into an ugly wound
you look for me in their eyes
maybe i'm being the shadow under their lids
and using their voice to sing
they keep you underwater, you tremble
and even the waves resemble
you look for me under the earth
maybe i'm collecting bones
and panicking – there's no heart
no heart, no heart, no heart
maybe i never had one to start with
while you search the air
i'll be gone to the sea
when you memory becomes thin
i'll come back to my home
i'll crawl back to your skin
a/n: i'm going to start a new collection of poems, probably soon. i hope you'll check out my new work when i publish it. it won't be as dark as this one, i swear. i'm not sure, but i'll probably keep publishing here too. thank you for reading, voting and commenting. you're the best!
