A Fateful Night

One fateful night
I want to sneak out
Tip toeing and tripping
After midnight
When the world is sleeping.

Maybe you will meet me
Down by the stairs
Grab my hand
And run away from there.

We will walk around
The silent streets
While we talk about life
Trying to figure out
Music and the memes.

Our whispers will be loud
Enough to hush down
All the bad dreams.

And maybe
I will rest my head
On your shoulders
As we gaze at the stars
And listen to our heartbeat.

Before dawn breaks
I will sneak back in
And try to remember us
Just as a good dream.
