Yesterday,
Is a beautiful place to be.

It was yesterday
When you sat beside me
Drinking your tea
As you hummed a melody.

If only I hadn't taken
Our time together for granted
Maybe I would have
Hugged you tighter
After you killed that spider.

I would have told you
How you made my world
So much brighter.

Maybe I would have
Let you pick the music
For our car rides
Watched that movie
About star crossed lovers
You used to go on about.

After every heartbreak
You were there to wipe my tears
And drown our sorrows in
Bottles of wine
And ordered fast food for dinner.

I hope it's not too late
For me to tell you
I love you and I always have
And probably I always will.
Just showing that hasn't always
Been one of my best skills.

Yesterday is that beautiful memory
I never want to snap out of
Only there you are still with me.

Yesterday,
Is where I want to be.
