Just Another Book

As I fall apart

I need you
To hug me so tight
Like you always do
To prevent me
From falling into pieces
And hold me
Till I feel better.

I try
To look at happy faces
To see how they smile when they sing
To see how the child
Looks ever so curious
When staring outside the window
As if he's looking at the world for first time.
I try
To be happy
Because there's still some beauty
Left in this world
But it's days like today
When it doesn't feel enough.

The world is still messed up
And there are people who aren't kind
There are days when I realise I live amongst them
And I have so much resentment left inside.

It is days like today
When I wish you were here
To hold me tight
Because
Maybe I am
Breaking down
As I fall apart.
