"What the hell is going on," mahinang sambit ni Gabe habang nakatingin sa kawalan nang mapagtantong kapwa namin pinabayaa si Vicky na madukot sa parehong gabi.
Kapwa kami litong-lito at mas lalo lamang itong nadagdagan dahil sa tingin namin ay sinisi rin ni Magno ang sarili niya dahil sa parehong rason.
"Does Vicky have a twin?" tanong ko.
"If the information in Magno's board is true, we don't even know who her real parents are," sabi naman ni Gabe.
Bumuntong-hininga siya at tumayo sa harapan ng dingding na tadtad ng dokumento at newspaper clippings. "Magno was clearly on to something before he disappeared. We have to retrace his steps."
"What's the plan?" I asked. Just a look at Gabe's intense gaze at Magno's board and I could tell that the gears in his brain are already at work.
"Alecksander Roy Jr. — Magno wouldn't just put his name here without reason," he said as he tapped the name. "See if there's anything about him on Magno's laptop. I'll continue looking."
As I scoured over the files on Magno's laptop, hidden on the documents folder by the taskbar, I came across another video titled "POTENTIAL ABADDON LOCATION". Before I could even watch the video, Gabe suddenly cursed.
"Bakit?" tanong ko agad.
Gabe handed me a document that contained what looked like a photocopy of a high school I.D.
"I know who Alecksander Roy Jr. is. He goes by the name Chewey, the newest member of Wave Syndicate. That son of a bitch, this can't be just a coincidence," bulalas ni Gabe bagay na ikinakunot agad ng noo ko.
"Wave Syndicate? 'Yung band na kinabibilangan ng boyfriend ni Reika?" I gaped at my own realization. I met the guy once and he seemed close to Reika, all of the boys in that band are!
"Naaksidente si Slade ilang taon na ang nakakaraan kaya nagpa-audition ang banda ng papalit sa kanya. Chewey auditioned and got the spot. Imposibleng coincidence lang ang nangyari," Gabe explained as his jaw stiffen in frustration.
"Gabe, do you know this guy?" tanong ko.
Tumango siya. "He's my younger sister's boyfriend. Kaya pala laging tinatanong ng tanginang 'yan ang tungkol kay Vicky noon, lagi rin siyang nagtatanong tungkol sa mga Magno. Akala ko gusto niya lang pumasok sa firm nila, mukhang iba pala ang binabalak niya. I should've fucking ran a background check when I met him."
"Wait, if Vicky is really alive. Then it means Alecksander Roy is innocent all along!" bulalas ko. "He went to jail for a crime he didn't commit and died behind bars! Could it be that Chewey found out and is out to avenge for his Father's death?"
"That's what we have to find out," Gabe said as he grabbed his jacket.
As Gabe drove the car to Chewey's house, I kept on thinking how Chewey—the son of the prime suspect—could be involved in the string of disappearances clouding Filimon Heights. May kasabwat ba siya? Anong klaseng paghihiganti ba ang balak niya?
