I woke up on the obnoxious ringing of my new phone. I buried my face in my pillow, hoping the ringing will stop if I just ignore it, but boy it wouldn't stop. Grunting in anger, I had no choice but to answer the call.
"Silver naman eh! Aga mo tumawag!" I was too annoyed and sleepy to even bother opening my eyes.
"Maaga ba ang 8am?" a hoarse baritone voice said from the other line. It was even laughing!
"Sino 'to nang malaman ko sino ang bubugbugin ko?" I scratched my head in frustration.
"The most handsome guy in Filimon Heights?" He chuckled.
"Warren?!" I jolted up with open eyes, wide awake all of a sudden.
"Anong Warren?! Si Haji 'to!" bulalas nito. Sa sobrang lakas ng boses niya ay kinailangan ko pang ilayo ang cellphone mula sa tenga ko. "Hoy 'wag kang traydor! Wasak na wasak na si Magno!"
"Hoy bumbay, 'wag mo akong sisigawan kung ayaw mong punitin ko 'yang mukha mo!" banta ko sa sobrang inis.
"Kirsten naman, di na mabiro. Tropa tayo," kalmado at patawa-tawa agad nitong agap.
Napabuntong-hininga na lamang ako at nahiga ulit sa kama. Tuluyan nang nawala ang antok ko dahil sa kanya pero ayoko pa ring bumangon mula sa kama. Sobrang nangingirot pa ang likod ko.
"Ba't ka ba nambubulabog, bumbay?" tanong ko na lamang.
"Hindi naman." Tumawa itong muli. "Gusto ko lang mangumusta?"
I rolled my eyes. "You do realize that we just saw each other last night right? Sabihin mo na nga lang anong kailangan mo."
I heard him heave a deep sigh from the other line before finallys speaking, "I just want to let you know how sorry I am. Maybe, if we just set aside our issues and used our brains, maybe things wouldn't have ended up this way. Maybe you and Magno would've been found earlier... M-maybe Reika would even--"
"Stop it." I closed my eyes shut. I felt guilty all of a sudden. They're blaming themselves because of me. "I'm sorry for blaming you guys, it was wrong of me. It wasn't true. Walang ibang may kasalanan kundi ang mga Abadd--"
"It was ours," he insisted with a calm and gentle tone. "Magno and Reika, they were always there for us ever since. We all shut them down when they needed us the most."
Nasapo ko na lamang ang noo. Halata ang lungkot sa boses ni Haji.
"I heard you guys are coming back to Filimon Heights for good?" tanong ko na lamang.
"Ah oo... ngayon kami pinaka kailangan ni Magno kaya hindi namin siya iiwang mag-isa. Ito din naman kasi ang gusto ni Reika, 'yung mabuo ulit ang barkada at bumalik ang lahat sa dati. Huli na pero susubukan pa rin namin bumawi," aniya.
