KIRSTEN

I woke up hearing soft sobbing and feeling a different kind of warmth against my hands. For some reason, I felt secured just by their presence. Slowly,  I opened my eyes only to see my parents sitting in between the foot of my bed. Mom was crying as she caresses my hand while Dad was just looking straight ahead, holding me dearly.

"M-Mom... Dad..." I tried to speak but only sobs came out from my mouth.

"Kirsten!" Mom and Dad quickly moved closer to me as they cried. Mom held my face gently as she planted loving kisses on my forehead while Dad held my hand even tighter.

"Anak, patawarin mo kami! Dapat naniwala kami sa'yo! Dapat nagtiwala kami sa sa'yo! Dapat hinanap ka namin!" Mom cried, her anguish manifested into words.

"That girl! She and her family will pay for this! For all their lies, for abducting you and the others!" My Father had never been so angry as he continued to shed tears.

My sobbing grew louder while looking at my parents. I suffered alright, but not as much as my parents did. The Abaddon's lies ruined my parent's life, just like mine. For so many years my parents struggled to help me, they were there on every single one of my nightmares, they even blamed themselves for everything that happened to me!

"I love you... I love you..." I told them in between my sobbing.

Mom pulled me into a hug as Dad joined in. I couldn't care less if I die being smothered to death by my parent's hugs — that would be the only way I want to die.

"Th-they're okay..." Mom assured me as she wiped my tears. "They're in the other rooms."

I closed my eyes shut at the thought of Reika. I took a deep breath as I choked back on my tears. "H-how about Reika? P-please tell me she's here too."

"Anak..." I heard Dad say tenderly. I opened my eyes and saw him kneel right in front of me. He held me by the cheek softly as he continued, "If it wasn't for her, they wouldn't have caught Vicky. They wouldn't have known where to look for. Reika's gone but I'm sure she's happy that you are safe."

All I could do was scream as I broke down in tears. My parents hugged me as they consoled me but for the first time, their comforts didn't suffice. Their presence and warmth didn't make my pain any lesser.

All of a sudden there was a knock on the door. Dad had to let go of me as he walked towards the door. He turned to look at me before opening it so I nodded and took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves and hurting heart.
