On the last day of 5th grade, one of my best friends Cheryl said she wasn't gonna go to math camp which made me kinda sad because that meant the only person I knew was Adrian. The first day was pretty bleh but lunch was fun. Mr. Roberts was a great teacher and made a lot of funny jokes. I'll be honest, going into that camp I didn't know much and I learned a lot. Later on in the first week and at the beginning of the second week, I began to hang out with Evelyn, Josh, and Martin. They were a year ahead and made lunch really enjoyable. I never spoke in class and only said one sentence, "Independent and dependent variable." During camp, Harry had tried to talk to everyone and in my mind, I thought he was retarded. TBH that camp was really hard because I had just left my elementary friends and barely knew anyone. It didn't help that I was already a shy person and wasn't great at socializing, so just coming out of my shell and making friends that quickly is really impressive for me to do. I did end up making some friends, Alexis and Hannah. They were really nice, but by the time school started Hannah had left the program.
