4) "Do you trust me?"

Natalie POV

"Shoot I'm late!" I said to myself. I got work every other day at this cafe. Luckily, the cafe isn't that far. I grabbed my bike and rode it fast as I could to get there not caring if I get a few scratches on my legs.

I finally arrived just on the dot and I immediately got my apron and went to work.

"Natalie, people on table number 12" The manager said and I nodded "On it" I said and walked to table 12. I looked down and grabbed n my notepad and until I arrived

"Can I take your order-"

I saw Lauren

And her boyfriend Brad....with his friends too...and some other girls I've never seen before.

"Ha! You work here? Too bad you ain't rich like us so you don't have to work like the cool kids" Brad said and I scoffed

"Everyone works, can I just get your order and we can move on?" I rolled my eyes "Fine, I'll have the grilled cheese" Brad said and I wrote it down on my notepad

"I'll have the chicken salad" A girl said "What's your name?" I asked her and she scoffed

"You don't know me? I'm one of the popular kids at school" she flipped her hair "If you're so popular, how come I've never seen or never knew your name before?" I asked innocently

On the corner of my eye I saw Lauren smirking at me. I tried to ignored it and went along with my work

"Ugh it's Karen" She rolled her eyes

"And I'll have the chili cheese fries" Lauren said and I nodded. After that I got rest of the people's order and I went to the kitchen and gave them the notepad. I went to the cashier and did some payments to the other customers

"Order up!" I heard someone yelled and I ran to grabbed the door for.....table 12. "Here's y'all food. Enjoy" I said and gave them their food. "About time, you walk so slow" Brad said "It's because of her shoes. Like her shoes are so 2000s" One of the girls said and everyone laughed including Lauren. I just ignored them and give them their foods.

It's around 7:00pm and they're still here. They've been here for like 4 hours now. I know they're talking and laughing about me but I just ignored them. I was at the cashier paying for another customer order. "Next" I said "Is that pink bicycle yours?" I look up and saw Lauren smirking at me "Yeah" I nodded and I heard her chuckled

"Here" she handed me her card and I swiped it. After I was done, I gave her card back "What time does your shift ends?" She said said "3 more hours" I sigh and she looked at me "Yo Lauren! We're going to the movies, wanna come?" Brad said "Sure, just give me a second" Lauren said back

"I can't believe I found you again" I heard her whispered and I look at her "What?" I said confusingly

"Later loser" She winked at me and left with her friends. I rolled my eyes and just continued to work.

I was rushing my way to school now. I woke up 30 minutes late and school starts in 20 minutes. Luckily the school wasn't that far when I ride my bicycle. I grabbed my stuff and immediately rush to school. I finally made it to school and I parked my bicycle at the front of the school.

In the front of the school, the teachers were checking the students for school IDs everyday. I grabbed my ID out but I realized I don't have it. I started to freak out and kept searching my backpack but it wasn't here. I must've left it at home and forgot about it.

Great way to start the day.....

I don't want to get in trouble so I just look around to see if there's any other entrances. I walked around the back of the school and saw a fence.

Perfect

I climbed up the fence. Kinda struggle because I was short and the fence was kinda tall. I made it up to the top and all I have to do is to jump down and I'm finally in school.

I looked down and it was far drop. I was always afraid of heights. And right now, I was scared to drop down. How am I supposed to do get down now?

"What are you doing?" I look up and saw Lauren looking at me. Gosh why do I keep seeing her?

"I left my ID at my house and I didn't want to get in trouble so I'm doing this" I said and she chuckled "You know you'll get more in trouble by this" She smiled at me

She got a point

"Well, I'm gonna get late to class." I saw her walking away

"Wait!" I quickly stopped her "What?" She looked at me.

Do I need her help?

I looked back at the ground and it made me feel scared again from the far drop.

"You're scared to drop?" I heard Lauren. I looked back at her and I nodded slowly. She chuckled.

She dropped her backpack on the floor and walked towards me

She stick her hand out

"Do you trust me?" She said

Should I trust her? I mean we just met and I don't know if she's going to do something

"Hold my hand, I'll catch you" She said interrupting my thoughts She looked at me and I bit my lip. I hesitantly grabbed her hands and she quickly pulled me down and I landed in her arms. She carried me bridal style and I look up at her and she was already looking at me

She was staring at me for awhile now so I got off from her arms

"Thank you" I said "Whatever" she rolled her eyes and grabbed her backpack from the floor and walked away
