16) "Hurts in the inside"

Lauren POV

It was the first day back of school and I was dying. I was so tired and more people kept asking me for pictures or autographs. I saw Natalie reading and I smiled

I walked up to her and sat down next to her

"What you reading?" I asked

She didn't respond instead she showed me her book cover. I nodded and smiled how she was reading the book I bought for her. I sat next to her and then I saw Brad walking towards us. He grabbed Natalie book and ripped all the pages

"What the hell?!" I stood up immediately

"She's a slut, always trying to get you but you're mines!" He yelled and I chuckled "I was never yours Brad" I said to him

I heard a sniff so I look down and saw Natalie was crying. I clenched my fist and look at Brad

"Go. Away. Now" I growl and took a step forward at him

He stopped laughing and actually walked away from me. I look back at Natalie and wiped her tears away "Y-Your book" she pouted "It's okay, I can always buy you a new one okay?" I said "But it cost a lot" she looked at me and I chuckled "It's fine" I said and helped her picked up the form pages

School ended and I was in my car driving home when I suddenly realized that Natalie doesn't even have a phone. I drove to the nearest Apple store and bought her the new iPhone 11 for her.

She's gonna love this.....

It was the next day of school and I have Natalie phone ready in my backpack. It was lunch now and I saw Natalie sitting under the tree as usual.

I went up behind her and cover her eyes with my hands

"Guess who?" I whispered to her

"Uhhh Nina?" She said

"No it's me" I said revealing myself "Lauren!" She said and surprisingly gave me a hug. I hugged her back and sat down next to her. "What are you doing?" I said "Fixing the book Brad ripped" She said as she taped the pages together

"Do you have any other things to do?" I smirked and she looked at me like I was crazy "I don't think so" she giggled

"Ta-da!" I showed her the phone

"It's yours" I said and gave it to her

"Lauren" She whispered

"This is too much" she pouted "It's fine, this is useful though. We can call or text whenever we want" I smiled and hand it to her

After we finished setting up her phone I gave her my number

"Text me and click that button" I said and she clicked the Animoji button

"Woah look I'm a dog!" She laughed and I smiled. She went through all the emojis and she was having so much fun by the emojis

"Let's take a picture" She said and I got nervous when she got closer to me. She smiled and I looked at her instead of the camera. "Lauren you got to look at the camera not me" she giggled and I smiled

I looked at the camera and wrapped my arms around her shoulder and pull her closer to me

"3, 2, 1" she counted and I kissed her cheek

"Lauren!" She said and I laughed

"Send that to me" I said and she nodded while leaning on me and I wrapped my arms around her

She continued to stare at her phone while I stare at her

She is beautiful

She was my everything

I want her to be mines

Natalie....I think you're doing something to me

I saw Brad walking towards me and our vibe died down. "Can I talk to you?" He said and I nodded. "See you later" I said and Natalie nodded

I followed Brad and we ended up in the back of the school

"Stop talking to her" He said "What no!" I said and he chuckled "Do it, or I'll make her life a living hell" he said and I gulped

This is wrong, but I'll do anything to make Natalie safe

I know Brad too well and he can be scary sometimes

I nodded and he smirked

He walked away and I walked away from Natalie. I know it hurts in the inside to ignore Natalie now.

Natalie POV

All day Lauren has been avoiding me. Maybe she doesn't have time to talk to me? Maybe she's just tired....

I was walking in the hallways and I saw her walking with a dead expression on her face. I walked towards her and then we passed each other like we were strangers.

That's strange. She always stops in the halls when we see each other

Maybe this was a one day thing

She's probably tired

Hopefully tomorrow she'll talk to me....
