17) "She was cute"

Natalie POV

It's been a month since Lauren has spoken or made any contact with me. I don't know what happened but she just decided to avoid me now. Has popularity taken over her? Am I an embarrassment to her?

I walked down the hallways by myself until I saw Bianca with her group of girls walking towards me then push me to the locker.

"Listen here, Lauren is mine" She growled

"She was mine since middle school. She don't want you ugly foot" She said evilly then stopped until we saw Lauren looking at us "Oh, hey Lauren" Bianca acted innocently and went up to her. She hooked her arms around her and I stare into Lauren's green piercing eyes.

She had no emotions

I walked away and went to my classroom

"Hey are you going to the school festival today?" Nina asked me and I nodded "Yes, sadly. I'm in charge for the kissing booth" I rolled my eyes "Ew gross, you have to see people kissing random strangers" Nina said and I nodded

"What are you going to wear?" She said and I shrugged "They told me to wear something cute" I shrugged again

After school, I went home to find an outfit to wear. I'm only going so I can do some volunteering. I dig into my closet and found a cute dress

This is good enough I said to myself as I look at myself in the mirror. It was already 6:00pm and the festival starts at 6:30pm. I got onto my bike and rode it to the school.

Once I arrived, I went to the kissing booth where million of girls and boys were waiting in line.

"Do you think Lauren will come?"

"I can't wait to kiss Lauren"

"Is Lauren here yet?"

I heard their conversations as I walked past by them. I got waited outside near the booth to collect their money and control the line. I was standing here until I saw Lauren

She looks so beautiful

She was walking around with Bianca holding up a sign about their booth.

We made eye contact so I quickly turned away and continued to work

Lauren POV

"So, how was your day going so far?" Bianca asked me as we walked around and hold up our sign

"Good" I said plainly

I look up and saw Natalie looking at me

My heart aches

I stare at her until Bianca pulled me out of my thoughts

"Turns out ugly foot is still here" Bianca said and I looked down at her "What do you mean?" I said "I mean, she was ugly since middle school. We all went to middle school together, you should know her" Bianca chuckled and I sigh angrily

"She's cute" I said and Bianca stopped walking and it made me stop at well

"What?" She responded

"Natalie was cute in middle school, even now still" I said and continue to walk
