she turns around hesitantly to find him running towards her. "hey."
"hey? seriously, that's it?"
"what?"
"you didn't show up to school yesterday, you didn't answer my call or texts. when i went to check up on you in person, you wouldn't even open your door. what happened, what's wrong?"
"ben, i'm not your girlfriend. you didn't have to do that. and nothing's wrong, okay? so just go find anna and tell her thank you for letting me borrow you last night. thank you ben for coming with me last night. now i have class to get to."
"north—"
she forced out a big and toothy smile, "i'm fine, dr. benjamin. i'll see you later."
