From ballet to orchestra, from melodrama to musicals. The night seemed to drag on and every showcase more interesting in their own unique way.

Her ass was hurting from all the sitting they've been doing and her heels were giving her blisters from being in them so long.

She had never wore heels as high as these before. She felt the inner rumbling of her stomach because she hadn't had anything to eat throughout the day.

The final curtains were drawn and she let a sigh of relief. The room erupted in a round of applauses.

Lizzy held back the urge to yawn. She glanced at the conservatory's clear glass ceiling and she could see the stars twinkling brightly up there without a care in the world.

It must have been a little past midnight.

Couples got up to the dance floor as soon as the slow music filled the room.Sensing her discomfort,Blake got up and stretched out his hand asking for a dance. She clutched his outstretched hand for support and stumbled on her feet, luckily he was there to hold her up.

Straightening her spine, she focused on Blake as he led them to the centre of the big hall.Other couples were already dancing, but when they arrived, all eyes focused on them.

She glanced around the room until her eyes landed on his mother who was sitting angled towards them staring at them in mocking disbelief.

Trying not to let his mother's reaction get to her.She focused on the man in her arms.

They stood in position, his hand on her waist and another in her outstretched hand.Lizzy had hers on his neck and the other entwined with his.

They swayed to the music.

"How is the whole event going for you?"
He asked in a low whisper.

"Honestly...I'm hanging in there" she sighed.

He chuckled.

"So are you denying the fact that you didn't sway along with the music during the music performance..."
He teased.

She pulled her chest away from his.She grimaced.
In the quest to defend herself ,she blurted out
"I wasn't..."

One of his eyebrows raised, he observed her with mocking scrutiny. She winced.

"...well,maybe I was.Just a little"
He had on a smug smile .

Feeling victorious,he pulled her into him and continued their swaying motion.

"But when does it end?" She cried softly.

"Soon.After the announcements,
come the auction" he replied.

"You just need to get through the dance and we'll be leaving during the refreshments.Okay?"
He informed her smiling so deeply that it reached into the corners of her heart and constricted.

She smiled,stopping her erratic heartbeat
"Okay"
She agreed.

Soon after, she leaned on him and
they exited the dance floor.

Waiters passed around as the guests all took their seats once again. They served champagne. Curious, she downed one so fast with not the slightest care about the repercussions.
