Hailey's grandfather's funeral was of course a sad event, but it was the first time her entire family had been together for years, so they were making the most out of it. They had large family dinners and movie nights.
Everyone in her family loved Ethan. He was pretty much accepted into the family as soon as he opened his mouth. When Hailey and Ethan took the train back to London her family members were sad. Especially Tommy, who basically worshiped the ground Ethan walked on.
Tommy and Ethan's relationship was hilarious. Tommy would bring him glasses if water randomly and make him food, in hopes to call the Ethan from the sidemen his friend. Her family ended up placing bets to see how far Tommy would go. The teenager finally dropped the act after folding all of Ethan's clothes and making his bed.
Right before the couple went in the train Hailey's dad pulled Ethan to the side. "I just wanted to let you know that I think you are a great guy and I am absolutely in support of your relationship. If you ever need anything let me know. Come visit soon." The older man told Ethan.
Ethan nodded and the two had some sort of bro hug before the couple left. "What the fuck, he didn't even say bye to me." Hailey said as they took their seat. Ethan laughed at her response.
"Oh shit Tobi just canceled on picking us up. Uhh is it alright if my Mum picks us up, I think she's the only one free today and I know Ubers make you uncomfortable." He asked her.
"Yeah that works but also I've never met you mum before. That's kinda nerve racking." She told him.
"Mummy Bez will love you, if you love me, she'll love you." He smiled as Hailey rested her head on his shoulder.
As the two stepped off the train Ethan scoured the platform, looking for his mother. He was suddenly enveloped in a hug from behind. "Mum, how are you?" He asked as he hugged her back.
"Wonderful know that I'm seeing you Ethan."
Hailey couldn't help but smile at the mother and son's exchange. "Hi Mrs. Payne! I'm Hailey." She smiled brightly as she stuck out her hand to shake. She was taken aback when the older women hugged her.
"Sorry I'm a hugger!" She was an adorable woman. Hailey quickly hugged her back and couldn't help but have a giant smile on her face. On the way home Ethan's mom asked how France was and asked many questions about their relationship. Hailey and Ethan were happy to answer all of them.
Toward the end of the ride his mother asked, "Do, do you see this going anywhere in the future?" There was a small awkward silence and Ethan cleared his throat before smiling.
"Well, I for one sure hope it does." He said and looked at Hailey. She nodded and grabbed her hand. Ethan's mom smiled lightly at the two. She definitely supported their relationship.
