Act

"Lauren your phone is ringing." Normani told her as she heard the sounds

Lauren quickly pulled away from the hug and got her phone out answering the call

"Dinah?..you can?..are you sure?...when?..what now?..no I haven't..no I'll be there..okay bye." Lauren said hanging up the phone to Dinah

"Dinah's at mine waiting for me to help move her stuff in, I gotta go." Lauren told her, she seemed perfectly fine.

Any sign of Lauren crying had disappeared, she wore a smile on her face and Normani was clearly confused.

It was as if the past few minutes hadn't happened and it was just a nightmare, but it did happen, didn't it?

"Text me later Lo. Are you sure you're okay?" Normani asked hesitantly

"Yeah? Why wouldn't I be? Get your head checked Mani, you're losing it." Lauren laughed before walking away

Huh, maybe Normani was dreaming it.

"Wait did that just happen?" Normani called to Lauren

"What? All that happened is we made up and I told you Dinah was moving in with me..are you okay Mani?" Lauren tilted her head to the side

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. I must have imagined it." Normani shrugged

"Imagined what?" Lauren asked

"You said your parents were dead." Normani answered cautiously

"No? I told you they're away on holiday. Damn girl, see a doctor." Lauren laughed waving at her

"I got like 2 hours sleep, that's probably it. Bye Lauren." Normani waved shrugging it off, because that's crazy right?

Lauren would have said something if anything so serious was to happen.

"Bye Mani! Seriously kid, see someone. You're going insane!" Lauren teased

Her best friend turned around sticking her tongue out at her with a smile as a response and Lauren knew she was off the hook.

As soon as Normani was out of sight Lauren let out a breath she'd been holding without realising.

How on earth did Normani keep missing her lies, and blatantly ignore the truth after such an outburst?

Lauren was relieved she'd believed it was her imagination but at the same time she felt hurt. She didn't know why, this was what she wanted.

"I knew it! You have been crying!" was the first thing Dinah said when she laid eyes on Lauren with her keys out to open the door for them

"I'm fine." Lauren groaned as the door swung open and she threw her keys in the bowl before helping Dinah with her bags of stuff

After they took Dinah's bags upstairs they sat down on her bed and Dinah broke the silence

"Tell me what happened."

"There's nothing to-" Lauren started but once she saw Dinah's face she knew she wouldn't accept any lies

"I told Normani." Lauren admitted

"And?" Dinah raised an eyebrow

"And then you called and I lied saying she imagined it and that she was losing it, and she believed me."

"She believed that? Even when you broke down crying she believed that?" Dinah asked in disbelief

"Yes! She believes every single lie I tell her and I don't know what to think of it. Like I don't want her to know but I'm mad at her that she's too stupid to realise I'm lying to her all the fucking time and it's all just- it's too much Dinah." Lauren admitted without taking a breath
