Nina's POV

I would usually ride with Luca to work and we'd get out the car at separate times, but he said he needed to leave early to take care of a few things.

After I was done getting ready, Angelo made me a quick breakfast and offered to take me to work.

"You already ate?" I asked as he walked out the bathroom, a towel wrapped around his waist. I couldn't help but gawk at how his muscles flexed with every move he made.

"Yeah, I made myself a smoothie while you were sleeping. I've been slacking lately" He replied before heading into the walk-in closet. After a while, he came back out full dressed.

"I should be the one to say that" I sighed out before getting up from the bed. Lately I noticed that I was gaining some weight, mostly due to Angelo making sure I eat full meals. He then chuckled before making his way to me, placing his hands on my waist.

"You're beautiful Nina" He stated, pecking my lips. I began to feel embarrassed from his heated gaze, soon heading towards the door.

"We should get going"

"You know you don't have to walk me in" I laughed, Angelo following behind me.

"I know, but I want to. I think I should just follow you around for the whole day, otherwise I might get lonely" He teased as he held the door open.

Just as I was about to say something, I noticed that Luca and one of the guards were standing by the reception desk with Cassie.

What's he still doing on this floor?

"What?! You can't be serious Mr. Bianchi... I've been working here for years. I would do anything for this company and you want to fire me?" She yelled out before standing from her seat.

The guard next to him was about to step forward but Luca held up his hand. I couldn't make out what he said to her exactly, but I'm assuming it wasn't what she hoped for from the look on her face.

I then felt Angelo place a hand on my back, walking us towards them. I couldn't help but be cautious about how close we were, not knowing if someone was watching us.

Cassie's gaze then reached my own and if looks could kill, I'd probably be dead right about now.

A dry laugh then came from her before she walked around the counter, "You. I bet you have something to do with all of this, don't you?" She accused before rushing towards me.

I then noticed the sharp object in her hand last minute and Angelo was quick to stand in front of me before I could do anything.

"Nina" Luca spoke out before making his way towards me, moving me away from the two.

"Angelo, why did you-" I began before I saw him holding what looked to be a pocket knife in his hand, blood trickling down his hand.

I felt as my heart sank as I watched Cassie pull away, looking at him in horror. She was going to stab me with that?

How did this bitch even get that past the guards?

"I-I'm so sorry Mr. Bianchi! We didn't think to check her belongings before she came in" The guard rushed out in shock.
