I'll come to you like an affliction
And I'll leave you like an addiction
You'll never forget me.
You want to know why?
Cause I'm a liar!

Liar ~ Henry Rollins

So while Stevie went off to confront Brandi Summers, my ex-friendly from Townhouse Towne. Billy and Tommy wait on the tailgate of Tommy's old beat up GMC pickup truck just down the street from the school. Stevie finds my ex-friendly Brandi just after cheerleading practice easy enough. Although he will never admit to exactly what he said to her to get my necklace back. He will also never admit that instead of threatening to destroy her, that he bribed her with something that she wanted more than anything else ...anonymity.

So I will never know that in the end, it was all partially Billy's fault that the whole thing happened in the first place. Which is probably why Stevie won't tell me any of this until way later. Because deep down, he knows that I don't really want to know why. Not until the day when I know everything I never wanted to know about Billy McCray, and I can forgive him for his part in destroying what little was left of my old life.

"So you got it or not?" Billy starts seething as soon as he sees his far too satisfied looking little brother sauntering up to the truck.

"Not got it, but I do have a location?" Stevie informs his brothers contritely. "Brandi says it's in the storm drain on Seventh street, just around the corner from the back of the football field."

"You sure it's down in the drain, and this isn't just another one of Brandi's bullshit lies?" Billy eyes the contrite smile of mischief on his brother's face.

"No. But let's just say, I can be very persuasive when I want to be? And let's just leave it at that, shall we?" Stevie shrugs his brother off.

"What did you do, Stevie?" Tommy side eyes his cunning little brother.

"Obviously, I lied like a champ?" Stevie freely admits his second favorite pastime. "I told her that I would make sure that everyone knows that the reason that dumbass here broke off with her? Was that he found out that she has a weird fetish for her mother's new much younger boyfriend. And that more than anything else, she loves the secret shame of all that sick shit she is into ...cause it makes her feel super special."

"And why the hell would she ever believe that sick shit? No one would buy that stupid bullshit." Billy counters coldly, sensing that his brother is still lying like a champ.

"Maaaybeeee ...but then again maybe not?" Stevie shrugs. "Girls like Brandi, really can't afford to take that chance. That even one person might believe something that awful that about them? So while it might not be enough to destroy her completely? It is exactly the kind of horrible thing that will follow her around in High School. Where she would always be the what if it's true girl? And trust me, no one ever wants to be that girl."

"Besides Brandi's made a lot of enemies in the last year with her new grown-up bitchier than thou attitude. So even if people didn't believe it was remotely true? They will still spread the story around, because it's just too awful not to repeat." Stevie laughs lightly. "Trust me, I just made that crap up five minutes ago? And even I can hardly stop myself from telling the other girls on the bathroom walls."

"Stevie, that shit is so fucking wrong, on so many many levels." Tommy shakes his head. "Where do you even get this sort of sick shit from?"

"Mostly YA novels off of Wattpad?" Stevie shrugs. "You just have to know where to look for the right kind of sickness, to make it stick?"
