I don't know if I've mentioned this yet or if it's in one of my drafts, but Ellie's an intern and here's some scenes about her interning.

Ellie's P.O.V.

I got it? I GOT IT? AAAAAH!!!! I GOT IT!!!! I GOT THE INTERNSHIP!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!

When Monday came -the first day of my internship- I got up at 6. It reminded me of when I was in school, having graduated earlier this year. I skipped preschool, so I was 4 in kindergarten, allowing me to graduate a year early -with 23 coils.

I had showered last night before I went to bed, to make certain nothing would make me late this morning. I did everything I needed to in the bathroom, I got dressed, packed my purse, did my hair and makeup, and left at exactly 6:20.

When I got to the NCIS building, I walked right in. I went up to the directors office first to get my assignment.

Dad's team? Really? Really? Yay. Can't wait.

First thing I did was set my purse and jacket on the little desk I was assigned to. I got everyone coffee from the machine in the breakroom setting a cup on everyone's desk, and sharpened everyone's pencils. Then went downstairs to help Abby as someone walked out of the elevator.

I got her a Caf-Pow! and entered her lab. But she was already there. It was barely 7am when I got down there, and she was already there working. "Abby, what are you doing here so early? I thought you guys weren't supposed to be here till 7:30."

"Ellie!" Abby said happily, coming over and hugging me. "I am so glad you're working here now. Thank you," She said happily, taking the Caf-Pow! from me. "Here, come look at this. Maybe you can help me figure out what's going on." Abby said excitedly, dragging me over to the large screen.

It was a picture of cells. "Blood cells?" I asked, for clarification.

"Yup!" Abby agreed. "The one on the right is from Petty Officer David Usres. And the one of the left, we found in his car. Tell me what's hinky about it."

I looked at the two pictures closely for a second, before realizing what the problem was. "The ones on the left is going through early cytokinesis. Whilst the blood cells on the right are firmly in the... G1, stage of interphase."

"Exactly, so, the blood in the car is at least 5 hours older than the blood in the Petty Officer when he died."

Abby went over to her MAs spectrometer while I kept looking at the pictures. "Abb?" I asked confused.

"Yes?"

"These are red blood cells correct?"

"Yes."

"There are some cells that don't go through mitosis. Like neuron cells. Reproductive cells, or gametes undergo a slightly different process called meiosis. Not all cells divide. Cells whose function is determined, known specialized cell, do no undergo mitosis. ... Cells replicate and divide only to replace dead or damaged cells. For example, Cardiac muscle cells do not divide because they are constantly working; basically, if your heart cells die, they are not replaced. Correct?"

"Yeah, what's your point?" Abby agreed, crossing her arms, and leaning against the counter.

"Red blood cells are one of those special kinds of cells that don't go through mitosis am I correct? Partly because they're all only produced in bone marrow."

"Oh my gosh." Abby said, walking back over to the screen. She almost ran into me, but I moved just before she slammed into me. "Ellie, how did I miss that!" She asked incredulously.
