When El entered the Muggle Studies classroom she wasn't surprised to see any other house apart from Slytherin. She settled at the desk in back as Professor Burbage started her lecture.

"Welcome back to Muggle Studies. This class is a class of knowledge so that when you leave the safe walls-"

A loud bang echoed through the room as a boy fell in a heap on the floor. He quickly stood up and attempted to get the dust of his robes.

"Back again Mr Nott and late." The woman sighed, leaning against her desk.

Instead of the apology that El expected him to give, a lazy grin played across his face as he dug in his bag. Retrieving a small white box, he handed it to Burbage and said, "One caramel toffee cake that I definitely did not ask the elves for."

He turned and walked in El's direction, confusion on his face as he sat beside her.

"As I was saying, when you leave the safe walls of this school,"

"Only had a death eater, a werewolf, an idiot and Voldy moldy in the same building." The boy muttered as El hid a smile.

"You will learn what life is and how others would do without magic. As witches and wizards we have to learn what to do without magic. Now this year is your OWLs. I know you can all pass with the right frame of mind."

"Let's start with some revision reading on how electricity works and next lesson we can learn about films."

Everybody got out their books as they began reading apart from the boy beside El.

"Theo."

Turning to face him she replied, "What."

"That's my name. Theo Nott. I know what you must think of me. Late but let me tell you how hard it is to ask a house elf to make a cake without rising suspicion."

"I don't want to be rude. But I didn't ask."

"So you don't want to date me." He said the words as if they were the most preposterous things in the world.

"No, Theo I don't."

"Huh. I feel weird. I'm turning green aren't I. Tell my mum she is an absolute bitch and my father to shove his prejudice bullshit up his arse." He sighed dramatically as he flopped on the table.

"I like you Theo." El announced.

"I like you too stranger."

"El."

"I like you too El."
