The scratchy feeling of the rental dress has me itching to tear it apart as it squeezes around my body , pushing my stomach in and boobs up . Not that there's much to accentuate anyway.

I stare up at the huge white building with about a million steps leading up to the entrance . Lamps hang from the pillars and shine bright like little stars . Large walls of windows allow you to see the bright orange of lights from inside.

How in the world do they expect people to walk up all these stairs dressed in fancy clothing ?

I huff and throw my hair behind my shoulder before starting my climb . Good thing I wore slip-ons . No one can see anyway .

My muscles begin screaming as I near the top . Some people have begun catching up to me until eventually I stand in front of the huge glass doors . The orange and pink colours of the sunset reflect off the glass causing a beautiful luminous effect.

"Ticket please ." A man in 'doorman attire ' asks in a bored tone.

I pull my ticket out of my bra and hand it to him . He takes it with a looks of disgust and inspects it before motioning for me to go forward.

"If you would go straight down the main corridor Miss."he orders and greets the couple behind me .

Fine. I guess will do that but not because he told me to .

I slowly make my way inside, observing the beautiful interior of the fancy building . The walls are all pure white and the paintings hanging on them are worth billions .

How do they trust people to come inside? Anyone could just steal them or accidentally destroy them. No one is even on guard or protecting anything.

I quickly ignore the decor and force my focus onto the task at hand : finding someone I know . I would hate to be alone the entire night.

I walk down a wide corridor leading to two white doors with golden handles .

I push the handles down and enter a sort of ball room filled with people dressed in expensive clothing , flaunting their wealth in other people's faces .

The white walls in the front of the room have red velvet curtains hanging on rods , draping down the wall , covering up the paintings being exhibited tonight behind it .

Of course Vincent would want a big reveal . Unnecessary if you ask me .

My gaze moves from person to person , searching for a familiar face but only finding the disgusted glares of the rich passing by.

I start growing anxious as the overwhelming feeling of not belonging consumes my mind . Everyone appears to know what they're doing,  where they're going and exactly who everyone is . I cant seem to find even one person from my class here.

Do I just stand here ?

My eyes widen as I suddenly get the urge to pee .

Screw you , nerves.

I look amongst the sea of people and finally spot a few familiar faces but find that it would be very awkward if I went over to them and strike up a conversation seeing as I've never spoken to them before .

Here I thought finding them would save me . I cant even work up the nerve to walk up to them.

A lady pushes past me with her gloved hand and glares at me , feathers hanging from her hair and a fur coat wrapped around her anorexic frame.

"How did the scum get invited?" She snobbishly laughs and the man in a suit next to her shrugs.

"I'm not sure Ma'am . "He says , clearly not getting the obvious insult directed towards me in order to make me feel inferior .
