Sorry for not updating 🙈. I had to sort out the storyline a bit so oopsies heh.

I hope you guys like it :)

Happy reading my lovelies!

Aspen's POV

"I don't know bout you but I'm feelin 22!"

"Everything will be alright if-"

"-You shut up."

I stopped, turning to look out the window of my flat where a little girl with blonde pigtails stood. She glared at me as her lollipop stained lips frowned at me.

I gave her my most offended look and scoffed.

"Pardon me?"

"I said, everything will be alright if you shut up. You singing is terrible," she said matter-of-factly before riding away on her pink Barbie scooter.

"Kids these days," I muttered, shutting my window.

Never opening that again.

I finished doing my laundry and cleaning up the kitchen which had turned into a disaster zone last night.

Not my fault I forgot to put the lid on the blender.

I paused when my phone rang.

"Hi mom! How are you?"

"Hello darling, I'm doing great. I missed your voice," she sighed.

"Just my voice?" I asked playfully and she laughed.

"Of course not. So, tell me. How's London?"

"It's amaaazing! They actually have those red telephone booths, it's so cool!"

"I wish I could be there with you to show you around," she said, a pang of sadness hitting my chest.

"I miss you."

"I miss you to Penny. But you have to be strong. For me."

"I know," I replied, taking in a shaky breath.

"How's the chemo going?"

"It's going as usual. Nothings changed which is good I guess."

"Alright, make sure you tell Dr. Alves to email me the updates okay?"

"Yes, yes, I didn't forget."

"Alright honey, I'll talk to you later. Love you."

"I love you too mom," I smiled, listening to the beep of the phone hanging up.

I tried to get my mind off things and wiped down the counter and cabinets.

I hated cleaning but it helped distract me from overthinking and that's exactly what I needed right now.

"Finally, I'm done," I sighed, moving to sit on the couch.

Just as my butt touched the couch, the doorbell rang.

"You've got to be kidding me," I huffed, stomping over to the door and yanking it open.

"You better ha- oh," I stopped short when I noticed who was standing in front of me.

A man dressed in a crisp navy blue uniform stood before me.

A Royal.

An amused look crossed his face for a moment before he spoke.
