Kai was hanging out with Hiccup in his hut and was playing fetch with Ember when Fish-legs came barging in with two scrolls excitedly.

"I did it!" He proclaims proudly. "And what exactly did you do?" Hiccup asks. "Finally ask Heather on that date?" Kai asks rhetorically making Fish-legs blush a little.

"No I finally translated your writing," Fish-legs said proudly. "What!?" Kai fell off the support beam he was lying on and Tooth-less quickly caught him. "Yep Hiccup read out my translation to prove it," Fish-legs said shoving the translation into Hiccup's hands.

Hiccup looked at his twin then back at Fish-legs before reading it out loud.

"I think you are a self absorbed hypocrite and would also loose my dragon if I left her alone with you and can't ever translate this also Fish-legs is a-and I'm stopping there," Hiccup said since the rest of the words were smug profanities.

Kai had his jaw dropped as Fish-legs smugly took Ember from him. "I won the bet so I get her for the day," Fish-legs said excitedly. Kai holds onto Ember possessively. "She's going to be fine in Fish-legs care," Hiccup gently encourages. "I am not leaving my baby with this idiot," Kai hisses to Hiccup. "Right here you know," Fish-legs said deadpanned. "Fine, but if she is not back in my arms safe and sound by the time I go to bed or has the smallest scratch, limp, or cough I will burn your insides very slowly," Kai warns him as he hands him Ember reluctantly.

Fish-legs barely noticed too excited to finally have a chance to study this dragon. He had been able to study all the others due to the other ninja being a lot more okay with it and he loved studying each of the dragons throughly. Kai though would not let Fish-legs near Ember unless he won the bet, so Fish-legs had gotten Cole to read it out to him since he was unaware of the bet. Sure it was cheating to some degree, but he thinks of it as using his assets. "I'm going to enjoy studying you," Fish-legs coos to the baby dragon who tipped it's head to the side in confusion.

Kai, meanwhile, was grumbling about loosing the bet. "Well at least it will be harder for the others to find you," Hiccup said. "Yeah I guess, but why were you so quick to accepting me when I told you about my interests?" Kai asks Hiccup. "Well it was a surprise, but your family of course I would accept you," Hiccup said wondering why that would be questioned. Kai was silent before saying. "Cole's dad disowned him when he came out," this gave Hiccup pause and he looked at his twin finding him serious. "He's more accepting now and they're still in contact, but still. Same went with the people who adopted me after Nya's parents disappeared. When they found out I was into guys they threw a plate at me and look what happened," Kai traces the scar down his eye and sighs. "They were crappy people in general, but never thought they would damage their pay check," Kai shrugs. Hiccup blinks at his twin who looked at him. "I didn't tell you for a pity party I told you because you need to be careful. Someone will always hate something about you just so they can have a excuse to hurt you," Kai told Hiccup. "How old were you?" Hiccup asks. "Twelve," Kai answers.

The one legged Viking can't see how anyone could do that to a child. "What happened to them?" Hiccup asks and Kai smiles almost evilly. "When the others found out what they had done to me and Nya over the years they went to their house...and let's just say they went to prison with a few injuries," Kai said almost dreamily. "That was before we even became a thing," Kai adds. "They clearly care a lot about you," Hiccup said. Kai sighs sadly and looks out at the view the hut had to offer. "They haven't been showing that lately," Kai said.

Hiccup did not know what to do besides giving his brother a comforting side hug. "If it makes you feel any better we're both in some pretty hard relationship trouble," Hiccup said and Kai returned the side hug. "Feels like my fault though that your having relationship trouble," Kai admits. "Well she needs to learn to respect my decisions. It's one thing to question them, but completely different to go against them like she didn't trust me," Hiccup said feeling upset at the fact. Kai is silent for a moment before he got up suddenly. "Then I'm gonna make it right. If you need me I'm gonna go with Astrid on her next scouting route and take a detour. I'll tell her you wanted us to go to the market place for some supplies and then beat up any hunters we find," Kai said confident in his plan.
