The riders were silent in their hut. After what happened with the ice they didn't want to speak or say anything because they weren't sure what to say. Snot-lout was nowhere to be seen and no one had it in them to go looking for him. Dagger came by with Heather and apologized for what happened, but no one blamed him for it.

Meanwhile Zane was glaring at Fish-legs who was writing notes in his book.

The silence did not last long though as Hiccup spoke up. "What are we going to do now? If we forfeit than Berk has no trading partners, not to mention Ember and Nya get given to whoever wins," Hiccup stresses.

Everyone was silent before Jay spoke up. "So? Hiccup just compete it isn't a big deal. We got the gold to enter," Everyone looked at him. "My son just died and that's all you care about!?" Stoic hisses.

"Dude he isn't dead trust us. Kai's been through much worse," Blue said like it was no big deal. "There's no way he could have survived that drop and we didn't see his dragon so he's dead," Hiccup hated saying that word.

The three looked at each other. "Okay again trust us Kai's been stabbed, burned, nearly crushed, gassed, kidnapped like twice, and caused a cave in more than once just for fun. We also go sky diving off the bounty as part of our training so we know how to survive a fall," Cole explains. "Don't forget that volcano explosion," Zane adds. "Oh yeah that was fun," Cole said with a smile. "It doesn't matter what he has survived what matters is he didn't survive this time," Hiccup said.

"We'll do you feel he's dead?"

Everyone looks at Tuff-nut who had said it. "What do you mean?" The blonde twins shared a knowing look with each other. "Hiccup, Hiccup, dear sweet naive Hiccup," Ruff-nut said with her unique way of sympathy. "As twins ourselves we know how twin tuition works," Ruff-nut continues gesturing to herself and brother. "Not this again," Astrid groans. Tuff-nut put both his hands on Hiccup's shoulders and looked at him in all seriousness. "So reach down into your own twin tuition and feel your connection," He said and Hiccup looks at him in confusion. Tuff-nut started shaking him erratically and yelled. "FEEL THE CONNECTION!"

"S-st-t-to-p-p sh-sh-shaking m-me," Hiccup stutters from the shaking, but Tuff does not let up for a moment. Stoic pushes Tuff-nut off Hiccup who was dizzy at this point. "Leave my son alone and stop it with this nonsense!" Stoic yells at them. The pair looked right at Hiccup. "Do you feel he's dead?" They both ask in union.

Hiccup's just staring at them and does not say anything out loud. The truth is though, no he does not believe Kai's dead. Despite everything saying that he is, some feeling in him is telling him otherwise whether it's denial or the twin thing Ruff and Tuff are always talking about. Hiccup looks at the ninja who had been watching the exchange with a bit of dumb foundment at the weird scene.

"Do you think I can honestly win?" He asks them. They looked at him and gave comforting smiles. "Yeah give it a shot there's no harm trying," Cole said. "Totally you'll win!" Jay said buzzing with positivity. "Your chances are 85 percent lower than Kai's for winning the games when comparing the other contestants and my own knowledge and data I collected," Zane said robotically. His words really stood out compared to Jay and Cole who looked at him in irritation like everyone else. Zane looked at them confused why he was being looked at like that. "What? He asked for a honest opinion," he said innocently. "We really need to have talk on when to state facts and when to encourage," Cole facepalms.

"Alright well it's not like we have a choice here, so I'll just use Ember's scales to enter," Hiccup said than looks around. "Where's Ember?" He asks. "She went to wherever Snot-lout left to," Fish-legs answers with a shrug. "Which means no gold," Hiccup groans. "Can't we just go get more from Flame?" Gobber asks. "She's still healing from her time with Viggo. The bastard took too many scales and she's growing them all back from scratch," Cole answers.
