Just two photos of him broke all the walls you had build around you. Seven days without feeling his presence in your life have brought you unimaginable pain which you tried burring deep inside you but it was a lost battle now. You needed to out pour your feelings. You needed your best friend. With shaking hands you scrolled down your call log and dialed Benny's number and she answered it right away.
" Benny..."
Only her name came out of your mouth followed by incontrollable sobbing.
" What happened ? Are you okay ? Is Yoongi fine ?" she was getting impatient by then.
" Nothing is fine Benny. Everything is shattered. Everything is messed up. It wasn't supposed to be like this Benny. Where did I go wrong ? Why do I feel like I am going to lose him ? Or have I already lost him ?"
You last question like a strike of thunderbolt on yourself. You already were a crying mess but after that, you were beyond limits.
" Shh... Shhhh... Calm down..Calm down my daughter " joking in such a critical situation was the biggest risk but miraculously it worked. You ended up snorting amid tears and cough.
After that you told Benny each and everything that had happened in last one week in details. She patiently listened to all of it, only saying " hmm " and " okay " throughout the process. When you were done pouring out every bit of it, your heart felt lighter. Not that it wasn't hurting anymore but at least you felt it was easier to breath now. Benny cleared her throat in a very professional way, alerting you that mommy Benny was in form,
" Let's go back in time for a moment alright ? Start from the day you met him first time at the store till the day Yong-joon showed up, count and tell me how many reasons he has given you to smile ?"
" What are you even asking Benny ? It's simply countless ." you replied with a bit of irritation because of the irrational question she just asked.
" Okay then, tell me on how many occasions he understood you without you uttering a single word ?"
" Benny ! What's this ? That must be like hundreds of times, how am I supposed to keep a count of that ? " you were pretty much annoyed by this time.
" Exactly. So he made you smile and understood you countless times by now and only one time, one single time when he misunderstood you and ended up hurting you, for that one time you think will end your relationship ?"
Her words hit you right on your face. For once he was nothing being warm and you were ready to consider him to be cold hearted ? You wanted to slap yourself for that. Benny again said,
" Yoongi is the man who silently saved you from being depressed when Yong-joon ditched you, he was the one who sent you a whole fucking box of goodies for one time you weren't doing fine, he came outside your dorm at 3 AM just because you said you miss him, he made you a part of his own family and made you feel like home in a foreign country and you simply can't clear out the misunderstandings he has ? "
You have no words left. She was merely rubbing the reality on your face and striking the fact that how naïve and childish you have been acting. You were dating Min Yoongi and everything about him was extreme. Whether it be his affection or his anger. You can't simply always expect him to be the giver, you have to play that role sometimes.
" Benny, you know that you save lives, right ?"
" Yes sweetheart. I am a fucking goddess. Now brace your stupid self and call him." it sounded like a command which you happily agreed to follow. After you were feeling relived and getting hold on your rational, thinking self, something else strike you.
" Benny ?"
" Hmm... ?"
" Isn't it 2 AM there ? Why exactly were you awake at this time ?"
" Aa.. mmmm... " she stumbled and juggled among syllables, definitely not able to lie to you but trying to hide something.
" Spill the beans already." you snared.
" Texting...."
You didn't reply. You wanted her to tell you what was cooking. She gave a nervous laugh and then continued,
" Texting Jungkook " the last word almost inaudible but shocking enough to baffle you from head to toe.
" WHATTTTTTTT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Since when you guys are on texting terms ? And how you have his number ? Since when is this cooking ! Why I am getting to know now ?" you were low-key furious at Benny.
" Relax ! Relax... He texted me about 10 days back... And I would have told you right away but then so much was going on and.."
" He texted you ? Like he texted you first ? That shy kid made the first move ? But how did he got your number ?" What was really happening ! You simply couldn't believe what Benny was telling you. It felt like you were witnessing a brand new side of Jungkook.
" Y/N, you know that you are not a pro at keeping your phone around you all the time, right ?" she replied timidly.
" That baby faced monster ! KOOKIE YOU ARE GONNA BE SOOOO DEAD ! " you snared.
You were so surprised and excited that you needed to take a minute long pause, while Benny kept blushing and giggling.
" So ? You are actually JK's girl now ?" you teased.
" Maybe " she replied and both of you busted into laughter.
Right after you hung up the call with Benny you texted Jungkook.
