Chapter 29

Loud noises sobered Fumiko up. The girl slowly looked up, only to find an annoyed Ibiki and a worried Inoichi. Some medics were tending her.

"Can we continue now, Uchiha Fumiko?" Ibiki asked annoyedly.

Fumiko did not spare them a glance before blinking her dizziness away. "Why's my brother here?"

"What do you—"

Ibiki narrowed his eyes towards the girl. "You can still use your chakra even though we put anti-chakra on you?!"

Fumiko averted her eyes down and nodded towards Inoichi, completely ignoring Ibiki. "Let's... just continue."

And so they did.

"Enough!" After hours, a bang on the door startled them all. Tsunade looked like someone just killed her grandfather. She was beyond livid, especially when she saw Fumiko's condition.

"Hokage-sama." Both Ibiki and Inoichi bowed down to Konoha's leader.

"How dare you!" Tsunade's usual loud voice was barely a whisper due to being extremely angry. "I'll deal with you two later. Sakura, how's Fumiko's condition?"

Sakura, who rushed to tend Fumiko, shook her head hurriedly. "We need to bring her to the hospital immediately, Tsunade-sama. Her heart is failing."

"Then hurry bring her to the hospital!"

Several medics carefully took off the cords that were attached to Fumiko's body while Sakura kept giving first aid on the girl's chest. They then carefully laid the girl on an ivory-white stretcher and rushed away to the hospital.

Tsunade sighed, knowing how messed up things are. Not only several clans will declare their hate towards the higher ups, she had to deal with the fuming oldest Uchiha who was on loose. Getting headache, Tsunade glared both Ibiki and Inoichi.

"Do you guys even realize what you have done?!"

Inoichi flinched while Ibiki looked as stoic as ever. "We do. However, we found out the truth behind the Uchiha massacre. The Uchiha was planning on—"

"No." Tsunade cut them off. "Hyuuga Hiashi had come to me alongside with several clan's heads. They know about your little experiments and now demanding on justice. Which means..."

"People will know by the morning and demands on publicity." Ibiki sighed.

They went silent for a while, until Inoichi cleared his throat. "What we did... I know it's still not perfect and can be counted as torture. However... we could get in her head and better.... We got it displayed on the screen and recorded so..."

"Who you torture is not merely a prisoner, but a clan's head. Does that not go through your thick skulls?" Tsunade snapped.

Inoichi flinched. Before he could say anything else, however, an ANBU appeared and kneeled before Tsunade. "Tsunade-sama, we spotted Uchiha Itachi and Hosigaki Kisame near the border."

The woman gave both Ibiki and Inoichi another glare, as if to say that this was because of them. She then dismissed them as she hurriedly followed the ANBU towards the border. True to the ANBU's words, Uchiha Itachi was boldly standing in front of Konoha's gate. Not only that, an almost lifeless ANBU laid beside his feet.

"Uchiha Itachi." Tsunade acknowledged the older Uchiha from above the gate.

"Senju... Tsunade." Itachi narrowed his eyes. His sharingan swirled dangerously.

"Bold for a wanted criminal to come back here." She stated as ANBU started to surround him.

"Bold for you to assume that Itachi-san will let you harm his sister." A chuckled was heard from behind Tsunade with a swing of Samehada. Luckily, Tenzo who happened to be near Tsunade swept her right away. Kisame then landed gracefully on Tsunade's previous spot.

"What do you mean?" Tsunade scrunched her nose.

Itachi rolled up his cloak sleeve, letting those people see the markings on his right hand. He then stabbed it to activate the seal, and a hologram of hourglass appeared above his arm. The top part of the hourglass had the fewer sand as it kept going down to the lower part.

"As I can freely keep tabs on my brother, I can't do the same with my sister." The older Uchiha explained. "The only way is by marking her and put the seal on my arm so I can see that she is alright. However, as you can see in the hourglass, my sister's lifeforce is getting low. It means something must have happened to her as she's running out of time right now."

Tsunade froze, suddenly remembered how she could not actually feel the girl's chakra flow when they were in the interrogation room. Cold ran through her back, but she forced herself to stay calm.

"And...?" She carefully asked. "What makes you think you have the right to come here?"

Before Itachi could say anything, another ANBU appeared in front of Tsunade and kneeled before her. "Hokage-sama."

"You're from ROOT." She stated.

"Ha'i." The ANBU nodded before handling several documents to Tsunade. "These are the official documents that the Sandaime had signed according to Uchiha Massacre."

Hearing this, almost every one froze. Tsunade hurriedly open the top scroll and skimmed the content. True to the ROOT's words, it was indeed a mission. A S rank one that was signed by the higherups of Konoha, including Hiruzen and Danzo.

"This..." Tsunade gripped the scroll tightly. She was speechless. How could the higherups do such thing to a mere 13 year old kid?

Before she could think, hurried footsteps attracted her attention. It was Neji, and to say that he was restless was an understatement. The teenager hurriedly stood near Tsunade before whispering that Shizune sent him.

"Hokage-sama, Fumiko-sama's condition is worsening. She needs you." He whimpered. "Please."

Tsunade leaned back to take a good look on Neji before looking back at Itachi. She was unsure on how to process all of this, but then looking at Neji's desperate face made her decided.

"Alright." She nodded. "Uchiha Itachi. If you really want to save your sister, surrender yourself. We'll have a fair public hearing on Uchiha massacre case."

Both Itachi and Kisame went silent before the younger male nodded his head slightly, making his partner gasped. "Itachi-san?! You can't be serious!"

"....We can take Fumiko by force, but by the way the Hyuuga look, her life is in danger. I owe her this much. She is, after all, Shisui's Legacy." Itachi looked up to Kisame. "Take care of Sasuke for me."

They both nodded understandingly before Kisame puffed away. Tenzo barked some orders for his ANBU to run after him while the rest surrounded themselves to Itachi. The oldest Uchiha did not say anything as he let Tenzo put anti-chakra braces on him.

"Tsunade-sama," Neji reminded her urgently.

"Right." Tsunade sighed and hurriedly went to the hospital.

Itachi was brought to Fumiko's previous cell and sat on the iron chair. He was blindfolded and without him knowing, they began to put the chords on him. However, Itachi did not even flinch. This impressed Inoichi by a lot.

"You didn't even flinch." Inoichi stated.

Itachi, however, ignored him.

Clearing his throat, Inoichi then told him the procedure of what he would be doing. The Uchiha heir did not respond, though Inoichi was no longer surprised. Then, after getting a firm nod from Ibiki, the hell began.
