Solivagant: A lone wanderer.
————————————————

(Y/N) wasn't sad this time, hell she wasn't even worried. The girl was actually quite annoyed and angry. When she woke up and saw that Jack was no longer in the apartment, she couldn't help but feel awful for a while.

It was frustrating, it hasn't even been three days since Jack came back to her, and they got separated. Granted, this was much better than to fear that the cops would appear on her doorstep one day and Jack is just watching the TV.

It took her a whole day to notice the letter he had left her on the table – she didn't pay attention before she left for work, so it stayed there until she was back from college.

She read the letter while she ate dinner and couldn't help but smile a little while reading it.

"I apologize for leaving without a proper goodbye, but I knew that if I woke you up you wouldn't go back to sleep again. Considering that we do not know when will this end, I'd like for us to stay in contact anyway. It would be best for you to delete my number for now, do not call me – I've turned off my phone and won't be using it for a while. So, every Monday and Saturday, the park near the center, not the one near you. I have marked the tree in which you can leave your letters. Take care of yourself, and be vary of everyone."

(Y/N) didn't even think about the phone. It made sense though, having his number would be a problem if she ended up getting in trouble. There wasn't really a reason for her to get in trouble, but you can never be too sure. She made sure to delete his number and the last time she called him.

Finishing her dinner, she folded the letter and thought about a good place to hide all of them in case the police wanted to search her place.

Literally none of that will happen, but I'd rather go over the top than risk anything.

She entered her room and pulled out the small box with all the letters Jack had written her. Her apartment wouldn't be a good place to hide anything really. The locker at her workplace however could be a good hiding place.

I'd only have to get to work before Tanya does, I don't want her snooping around.

Placing the box in one of her bigger bags, she sighed before closing it. This is going to be the most annoying part of her life, she was aware. Funny enough, she wouldn't call this her most stressful relationship. Recalling one of her past relationships, she did date this person that tried to make her life quite miserable – it didn't affect her at all afterwards, but it used to stress her out before.

Not wanting to think about it any longer, she changed her clothes and dived into her bed, letting sleep consume her. The girl definitely needed all of her braincells in full until this passes.

Oddly enough, (Y/N) was full of energy in the early morning. She did get up a little earlier than usual, but it seemed like she didn't need to do so, considering that she was ready by 6AM. The girl didn't mind spending an hour in alone at her work, as long as she got to hide the box in her locker without anyone seeing.

As she walked down her street, she noticed three police cars parked on the side, but tried to ignore their presence.

They're really quick with all of this huh?

Pressing her bag closer to her, she picked up the pace a little bit. The streets were somewhat busy with people, a lot of them took their kids to kindergarten, some walked to work. She'd rarely see people driving their cars, which was weird – it would make much more sense to drive when a killer is on the loose.

Unlocking the backdoor of the café, (Y/N) placed her bag on the table and unlocked her locker. The locker was almost empty, there were just some pens and pencils on the sides. Shoving the box in the locker, she closed it and locked it.

There is still like forty five minutes until Tanya comes to work. Boring.

The girl headed out to the main area, deciding to clean the place up a little bit before her coworker arrives. She knew that Tanya would be more than happy to see that there isn't anything to clean and that she can have her morning coffee in peace.

Looking at the time, she noticed that it was almost seven in the morning, which meant the news would start soon. Turning on the radio for some background noise while she works, (Y/N) wiped the tables.

"Good Morning everyone, in today's news the first thing we'll be covering is the investigation in the forests of our town that are beginning today. Detective Shirley that has taken over this investigation has said that there will be numerous patrols searching the forest and that the questioning of the residents near it will be taking place a little later today. He has also said that he hopes that the search will come to its conclusion in the next five days, and that the three missing people will be found alive and well."

Hearing that, (Y/N) found herself clenching the rag she wiped the tables with. Five days seemed like a short time for the whole forest. The girl suspected that something in that statement wasn't as true as she wished it was. It was only Tuesday, and (Y/N) already had many things to tell Jack. But she'd have to wait until Saturday for that.

It's weird enough that they are notifying the citizens too... Aren't the police supposed to hide the fact that there is a serial killer on the loose? To keep the citizens calm or whatever.

"Good morning! Didn't expect you to be here earlier than me!"

Turning her head to the side, she saw Tanya standing, a bright smile on her face. Returning the smile, (Y/N) made her way to her coworker to give her a hug.

"Yeah, I woke up earlier and just decided to get ready and come earlier. You look happy today!"

The girl spoke, now letting go of the hug. Tanya was glowing today, she noticed – Her hair was styled and it appeared that she put a little more makeup than usual. Her whole stance seemed different as well.

"That's because of this!" The blonde spoke and shoved her hand in front of (Y/N)'s face. Focusing her eyes, there was a beautiful ring resting on Tanya's ring finger. She grinned as she inspected the shining ring, breaking into a fit of giggles.

"He proposed!?"

"Yes! Last night on this beautiful hill- It was so romantic!"

(Y/N) couldn't help but feel happy seeing how excited her coworker was. Something about events like these was special to her. To see the beautiful positive emotions on people's faces was blissful. The two had their little celebration moment, and now they sat by their usual table, chatting and drinking.

(Y/N) didn't let Tanya work today as much – as a weird gift for her engagement. She let her have fun, taking pictures of her ring and answering calls from her relatives and friends. Luckily, it wasn't a busy day, so she did keep her company for quite a while.

College was the same old to (Y/N) – Andrew, Lauren and her had their own fun during lectures, this time not visiting the café after they finished, which left (Y/N) to go home and prepare to be questioned any day now.

She just wanted to get it over with.
