"For you?"

"Yup."

"...."

"???"

*Sigh*

"I'm not in the mood for any jokes, Lady Nadia."

"I'm serious though?"

"I don't know how you found this building but it's better to leave."

"Wait, you're denying my request?"

Cain looked at her with a distrustful gaze.

"I don't trust you. Who in their right mind would request for lethal poison just so they could kill themselves?"

"Me! I'm that person!" She objected.

"You? Nadia Augusten, daughter of an Archduke, one of the noblest and wealthiest women in the empire, wants to die?"

"Yes! Finally, you got it." Nadia sighed in relief.

'Talking with this person makes my head hurt.'

Nadia couldn't understand why it was that hard to fulfill her request.

"And don't worry, I'll pay you with a blank check with the Archduke's signature. Just bring me the poison."

"...."

She wondered why he was silent.

"Ah, you don't trust me you say? How about this.. I pay you, you bring me the lethal poison, and you watch me drink the poison to make sure that I don't use it on anyone else. What do you think? It's a win-win situation. And, don't you hate me? Then it's perfect! Watching someone you hate die in front of you feels good huh? Don't worry, it does feel better than you think."

Nadia was saying things that Cain couldn't grasp.

Why would she want to die?

"Hey. Are you listening to me?" Nadia waved her hand in front of his face.

Anyways, what she said was partly true.

Cain did hate Nadia.

He didn't know why but he just felt that way.

He just hated her.

Like it was a feeling that was rooted inside him from the beginning.

"I got it. Here's the poison." Cain handed her a small bottle.

"Wait, this is it?"

"Yes. It's lethal poison."

"Are you sure?" Nadia had to double check.

As she looked at the bottle, it seemed oddly familiar.

It looked the same to the bottle she drank while she was locked in the imperial prison.

But it wasn't lethal enough to kill her without waking up.

"Are you sure I'm gonna die with this? For real?" She had doubts.

"It's very lethal. It's enough to kill with just one drop." Cain informed.

Somehow, hearing that made her feel reassured.

"You better not lie to me." She glared.

She was ready to face hell anytime right now.

Not just her own bedroom.

"I'm not lying."

Cain wasn't lying. Partly.

In fact, that poison is actually very lethal.
