"Sister, are you alright?" Eunid worriedly asked.

He noticed that Nadia was out of it since they left the mansion.

Nadia kept staring blankly at the view outside the carriage.

It seemed like she couldn't hear him.

"Sister Nadia?"

"Huh? Ah, yes?"

"You look out of it. Are you not feeling well?"

Nadia looked at Eunid.

The last time she talked to her was when she passed by him after leaving her father's room.

And before that, Eunid confessed that his reason for living was to see her.

'He probably doesn't remember it.'

"I'm fine. Thanks for asking." She smiled at him.

"I'm glad." Eunid sighed in relief.

"By the way, where are we going again?"

It's true that she was out of it since earlier because she had no idea where they're going.

The only thing that's been inside her mind since they left is looking for a way to die.

But it was hard because she already tried all sorts suicides and deaths.

'I'm out of ideas.'

"To buy your dress for the upcoming banquet." Eunid answered.

"Oh."

*Tak*

The carriage suddenly stopped.

"We've arrived, your highnesses." The coachman announced.

Eunid opened the carriage doors and got off. He then offered his hand to escort Nadia.

"Thank you." She gently smiled as she accepted his hand.

Eunid couldn't help but stare at her.

"You're very beautiful." He muttered with a love-struck face.

"I know." Nadia casually replied.

Even though Nadia was haggard and insane inside, she knew for herself that her beauty is second to none.

She has a beauty of a villainess after all.

'Did he fall for me again?' Nadia thought as she glanced at Eunid.

The two of them walked beside each other.

"Oh my. Lady, you are suffering."

Nadia suddenly heard an old woman's voice.

"!!!"

"Sister?"

"Did you hear that? Someone called me."

"I didn't hear anything though?"

Nadia was sure that she heard someone.

Though she was crazy, she wasn't that crazy to hallucinate something right now.

"Eunid, can you go ahead of me first? I'll follow you later."

"..Alright. I'll be waiting for you, sister."

"Hm."

Nadia waited til Eunid went inside the building.

After she confirmed it, she immediately looked for that old lady.

'Where is she?'

"Lady."

"!!!"

Nadia stopped her steps.

She looked around her and saw a little alley.

She walked towards it slowly and see if the person she's looking for is there.

"Good day, Lady."

There was an old lady sitting peacefully there. She was all alone.

Nadia finally found her. "Did you call me earlier?" She asked.

"Please, take a seat." The old woman beckoned her to sit on the chair.

Nadia sat in front of her.

"I know it's you. You said that I was suffering. What did you mean by it?"

The old woman smiled at her.

"You looked tired for a young one. I've seen those eyes a lot. Ones that are looking for death."

"..!!!..How did you know?"

"But it isn't death, that you're looking for, lady."

"What?"

Nadia couldn't understand her.

She wasn't looking for death? If not death, then what is it? Life? Peace?

She already tried to seek that many times but she still ends up going back to square one.

"Let me see your hand."

Nadia showed her hand to the old woman.

"My, it's my first time seeing this kind of fate."

"What fate?"

Nadia has never been so confused and curious at the same time.

The old lady's eyes were sharp.

'Maybe she has the answer that I've been looking for?'

"You are favored by death but coveted by life itself. The world wants to punish you but its creator wants to give you a second chance. You neither want to die nor live at all. You are an empty shell, seeking for true peace."

'She knows-'

"Old lady, what should I do? How do I find that true peace? Is it through dying?"

The woman let go of her hands and rummaged something from her old bag.

She then handed Nadia a piece of candy.

"Try to eat that."

"What is this?"

"It's something I've given to people like you."

"People.. like me?"

So she wasn't alone?

There were also others who regressed like her? People who are in an endless dying state?

"They were people who tried to end their lives."

"Will this end everything?" Nadia held the candy.

"If life still covets you after you consume that, the only thing I can say to you is to find the answer yourself."

"...Are you from the other world?"

The old lady smiled at her.

"There's always something in between life and death. I am that 'in between'. A mediator."

"I'll eat this."

"You won't see me anymore, lady. I hope you find rest."

"Hopefully."

Nadia swallowed the candy directly.

*Thud*

Her body collapsed as soon as she finished consuming it.
