Hey guys. Ok so I have two things to apologise for-
• I try not to put an authors note before a chapter so sorry you have to read my shit before and after the chapter
•I know this is like a month late but I'm on summer vacation and I'm trying to keep up with this and everything else.
So sorry :( but the chapter is finally here!

Davis PoV:
*morning*
I was sitting at the counter having my cereal when Jude came down.
"Hey princess how was your birthday?" I asked with a grin.
He just rolled his eyes at me.
"How was yours?" he asked me, grabbing some milk from the fridge.
I thought about it. About what all had happened.
"It was fine" I said softly.
"Okay.." He said.
"Where did you go in the morning anyways?" He asked me.
I didn't know how to answer that. I couldn't answer that.
"Went for a run" I said.
"Really?" He asked surprised.
"Yeah!"
"And how are things between you and Emma?" He asked again.
I sighed.
I picked up my bowl and went up to my room.
Not before saying
"Wow you have a lot of questions"

I was lying down on my bed when I heard a voice from down.
"Davis I'm going to go now, see you day after" Jude said.
He was going to go for a road trip with uncle Lucas.
Him and Lydia.
I couldn't help feel a wave of jealousy.
I would go but I had to catch up on my school work.
Ok fine that was an excuse not to go.

"Yo loser" I heard someone say.
Sawyer.
"Don't people knock these days?" I said.
I was facing my pillow, lying on the bed.
"They do, but I'm not a normal person" she said and sat on the bed.
"Of course not"
She laughed and hit my head, lightly.
"Aren't you angry at me?"
"I was, but I stopped caring"
"Yay" I muttered.
"So you're going to tell my why you didn't go on the trip?" She said.
"I have work"
"Yes the work that you're clearly doing by lying down"
"What do you want?" I said.
"Geez is it someone's time of the month?"
"Sorry"
"It's fine, so I had to ask you something"
"Can it wait?"
"Nope"
"Great"
"What's wrong with you?" She sighed.
"An annoying woman stormed into my room and started asking me questions"
"Hey in my defence I haven't asked you a question yet"
"Of course"
"Davis.... Where were you yesterday morning"
"Oh my god just let that go!"
"No! Tell me!"
I sighed and got up.
"Don't tell anyone"

*flashback (his story)*
I woke up at 7 in the morning. Were birthday's really supposed to be spent worry about life? Because when I woke up, I felt like I wasn't moving forward in life and that I needed to make some decisions, that would affect it.
I needed to make them now.
So I put on my jacket, grabbed the car keys, got into the car and drove. Drove till the river court, sat there and watched the sun rise.
After an hour or so, I decided it was time to finally make that decision and move forward.
I drove up till her house and I waited outside for a while, I just didn't want to be there too early. So yeah, I knocked on the door at 9:30. I knew because I had waited for the perfect time, waiting for her to get up.
When I knocked, Jenny opened the door. Emma's sister.
"Hey"
"Hey dude, whatsup?" She said, rubbing her eyes. She was in her pyjamas.
"Sorry for coming so early, I need to see Emma" I said, a little impatiently.
"Ok yeah sure, just go wait in the hall and I'll check if she's awake"
"Thanks" I said and walked in. They had a nice house. White couch, hard wood floors, blue walls. I sat on the couch waiting for Emma to come down. After some time she finally came down and said,
"Hey Davis, what's up?"
"I need to talk to you" I said, sternly.
"Yeah, I figured, come up" she said and went up the stairs. I followed her.

"Look I'm sorry about everything, I was just insecure and worried and I wish I could fix it and I-"
"Emma it's fine" I said and stopped her.
"Davis..." She said and leaned forward but I had to push her back.
"No Emma, we can't keep doing this"
"What?" She said.
"Look, you're amazing and it's not you, it's me, but I think we just need to step back and re evaluate the situation and I don't think it's going to work out between us. It's just a little difficult for me right now and I need to do this because we both need a break"
I couldn't even look her in the eye.
"So you're breaking up with me on your birthday?" She said, looking so hurt.
"Yeah" I sighed.
"I'm sorry Davis I-"
"No it's not your fault, it's mine"
"Please don't" she said and got up.
"I have to" I said.
I walked out and said,
"Goodbye Emma"

*end of flashback*
"I'm sorry Davis" sawyer said.
"It's fine, it was my fault"
"No it wasn't! It was not your fault!"
"Yeah well, you can't help who you're in love with"
"Is that Emma.... Or Lydia?" She asked.
I couldn't answer her, I couldn't even answer myself.
"It's complicated" I finally said.
