She had dropped the idea of leaving

She had dropped the idea of leaving. She wanted to prove to him, he had no effect on her. And that his presence doesn't matter to her. Whether he is in the room or not, it's all the same. Daksh however was nervous and sweaty, although he did a good job hiding it well, but only was he aware of how he wanted to curl up and disappear when her hand brushed his and she looked at him.

As the movie finished, all four friends stretched a bit after sitting so long in one particular posture. The lovey-dovey couple was all comfortable on the couch cuddling while both of their friends were busy rolling their eyes at the PDA they were getting to witness.

"Okay guys, I'll leave now!" Harleen said picking up her belongings. Daksh's ears perked up at that announcement of hers. No matter how much he avoided her he wanted her to stay a little longer.

"Why so soon?" Mihika butted in.

"Yeah. It's only been an hour since you came." Aakash joined too, earning a glare from her.

"Plus it's raining!" Mihika reasoned.

"I came with a car!" She deadpanned.

"That doesn't mean you'll leave so soon!" Aakash glared at her. She thought of leaving in mid of the movie but chose to sit back for the sake of proving an idiotic belief she had made up. But now that the movie was over, she was sure the friends were going to interact. And she did not want that.

"Well, I have some work." She lied.

"Liar! You completed all your work on the weekend when we were talking over the phone!" Mihika scolded her.

"Well... I got more." She lied yet again. Daksh only tossed his head between the three of them while they argued.

"Yeah. But it's an off from work for you today. So no work. Work all you want after two hours. You're staying back." She glared at Aakash who seemed unaffected while making the statement.

"You guys are impossible!" She huffed in annoyance.

"Ok so now that we all four have come together after so long. Why not play our game? The secret night?" Mihika said with hopeful eyes. The secret night. One of the main reasons why they went to being so close in the past. And, also one of the reasons why he drifted apart from her. Daksh still remembered the day like the back of his hand.

"Sounds cool! I'll pour the wine for you all. Set the table up." Aakash said getting up. Harleen got up and looked down at her feet remembering the night they last played this game. That was the last night they had talked. She never understood what went wrong, but that game brought it all down. Perhaps. Maybe it was her belief. But, it indeed ruined everything. Everything she once had with him in the past.

Stealing a glance at him, she found him looking at her intently. She didn't expect this to happen. Averting her gaze off, she went ahead to help her friends organize things for the game.
