Interacting with Shiuli in person came out to be much better than Harleen thought it would be. With the time gap, she feared the friendship would've just gone awkward, now that they were not kids anymore but Shiuli was always best known for making people around her feel at home. And so, when she met Harleen it wasn't hard for her to restore their long-lost friendship.

What made Harleen anxious was her other friends—the ones who thought she wasn't the best to fit in their group. Cautiously stepping inside the room full of her childhood buddies, she looked around the room to find the familiar faces which were now so mature she found it hard to actually believe some.

"Hey, Harleen!" A voice beamed right behind her. Turning around, her lips instantly broke into a wide smile.

"Hey, Viraaj! Congratulations on the wedding, bud!" She replied with a brief friendly hug. The guy responded with the same enthusiasm while looking at the turned heads towards them. Surely his voice was loud enough to catch everyone's attention.

Parting away when she turned she was taken aback by the sudden attention. Not to mention, she hated being the center of attraction. When she said she won't be meeting any of her school buddies in the future, she meant it with all seriousness since now it has been six years since she last saw them. To ease the scene, everybody started exchanging pleasantries with her.

"Hey, Harleen! Long time huh." Said Akshay, the jolliest and funniest guy in the group. He was a good friend to Harleen too back in her school days or at least she thought so.

"Hi, Akshay! How have you been?" She smiled warmly.

"As good as you see me right now!" He reciprocated the same smile.

Soon enough she met all her friends; Priyanka— the overconfident girl of the group who roared sass and humor, Sukriti— Priyanka's best friend who was better known for her bad temper and unnecessary hate towards people, Abhilash— the sports freak, Randhir— the guy who once had a crush on her and Rishi— the bad boy of the group.

The old memories flashed in front of her eyes when she met with each and every one of them. The long-gone school days were being missed terribly by all of them. Funny thing was, no one was the same as they used to be in school, except Rishi and Sukriti. They two seemed to never change. Not that Harleen liked them very much anyway.

"Hey, Harleen!" A nervous voice caught her attention. Seeing the face in front of her eyes, she froze at her place. It was the same guy she had once rejected in school. The same guy who made up weird stories against her to justify the reasons for his liking and her rejection, often making her feel terrible to stand alone in the class. The same guy she stopped talking to and started avoiding. She despised him to an extent no one had ever thought one can do. But, today with the elegance and respect he stood in front of her she couldn't help but let go of the past. Weren't they kids back then, anyway?

"Hi, Randhir. How are you?" She answered clearing her throat which dried up just instantly.

"Oh. I'm good. How's everything with you? It's been years since we met." He smiled warmly.
