"Ash, are you really going to battle Leon?" Goh asked with a look of concern and doubt on his face.

The raven-haired boy stopped for a moment before refocusing on tying the anklet of his shoes.

A desire to battle Leon, did he now?

He would be lying if he said he didn't. He was excited to have a chance against the strongest, yet there was a part of him that was scared, knowing that he had to face a Charizard.

Quite a hypocrite, he was, considering the Pokemon he intended to use against Leon regardless of the format was also a Charizard.

What if he made the same mistake in his battle against Leon that he made while battling Ritchie's Charizard? Even the thought of that sends shivers down his spine.

Putting his Rotom-phone in his pocket, he wore his hat.

"Ash, are you even listening?" Goh asked, getting a little irritated.

"It's not just me and Leon who want to battle. Rather, the one with the most desire to battle Leon is him..." Ash answered with a serious look.

"Him?!"

Holding the silver pendant whose origin Ash was not aware of yet, he walked past Goh.

".....Charizard."

...

The two champions looked eyes at each other in the middle of the stadium Leon reserved for their battle while Goh and Lance stood there in the stands.... one with a look of great interest and the other with a worried face.

"I hope you are as good as Lance says you are because I have high expectations from you," Leon said, making Ash curious.

"As good as Lance says?" Ash repeated Leon's words.

"Indeed, he seems to put you in a very high standard," Leon replied much to Ash's amazement and surprise. "And your Charizard's ability to Gigantamax without a Dynamax band, that's something I am very interested in Ash. And you should know being the world monarch, impressing me isn't something easy."

"And you are telling me that I did?" Ash asked, raising an eyebrow.

"That will depend on your performance against me." Leon chuckled before pulling out a Dynamax band that he handed to Ash.

"Isn't this..."

"Yes, it's called a Dynamax band. I am sure you have seen Lance, and me used this to Gigantamax our Pokemons yesterday. This one is for you."

"That's awesome....!"Ash exclaimed only for his insecurities to rise again suddenly and make him question his value. "But are you sure about it?"

"Of course! You can't truly experience an epic Galarian battle without Dynamax." Leon remarked with a smirk. Something that a certain dark-type gym leader will surely disagree with.

Reluctantly, Ash nodded as an old blonde arrived at the battlefield on top of his Aegislash.

"So Ash, are you ready for having a champion time?" Leon asked, unknowingly being completely right given Ash was a champion too.
