11. One sided love

After 6 months

Siya's POV

It's been six months since our college began and today was our last day of exam. I'm not a topper but I'm an above average student. I always score decent marks. I just hope I do well this time too. In the last test, all of us scored decent marks and Siddhant topped the class. I guess he's good at everything. Some people are blessed with a lot of talents and he's one of them.

Right now, I'm waiting for my boyfriend. Yes! Kabir and I started dating 4 months ago. After the freshers party, we exchanged our numbers and started talking. Eventually, I developed feelings for him. And then on his birthday, he proposed to me infront of everyone.

Flashback

'Happy Birthday Kabir!'

Everyone screamed as Kabir entered in the room.

We planned a surprise birthday party for him. Swati and Raghav were on their way. Aarav and Siddhant were standing in a corner.

"Thank you so much guys!", Kabir said and hugged me and few of his friends.

"C'mon now, cut the cake buddy", his friend said and brought the cake near Kabir.

"Ofcourse I'll cut the cake but before that, I have something really important to do. "

I looked at him with amused expression as he started walking towards me. He stood right infront of me and said, " Siya, ever since I've met you, you've never left my thoughts. You're really pretty. You've always been by my side and I want it to be this way forever. "

He went on his knee, held my hands in his and said, "I love you Siya! Will you be my girlfriend?"

I was shocked by his sudden actions. I was a bit reluctant because we had known each other only for 2 months. Even though I like him, I didn't want to rush things between us but his sudden proposal was unexpected.

He raised his eyebrows slightly asking if it's a yes or no. I took a deep breath and said, "yes."

Everyone started cheering for us and Kabir hugged me tightly. His proposal made me a bit uncomfortable as I never wanted to be proposed infront of a lot of people but he said he loves me and that's what matters for me.

Just then Swati and Raghav entered and upon knowing what just happened here, they were shocked too. While Kabir was talking to his friends, Swati dragged me towards a corner and asked, "Siya, what just happened now? He proposed to you and you said YES? You guys hardly know each other. I know you've become good friends over the past two months but dating is a huge decision. Say something."

Swati was right. Even though I liked Kabir, I wanted us to know each other better before dating each other. I replied, "Swati, I know. I wanted us to know each other before getting into a relationship but today, out of nowhere, he proposed to me infront of everyone. If I would've said no, it would've hurt him a lot as it's his birthday. I didn't want to say no but I didn't want to say yes either, not so early. I like him but I'm not sure if I love him yet. But I'm gonna give this relationship a chance as he loves me. And I guess, with time, we'll get to know eachother better. So don't worry Swati."

I assured Swati and she smiled at me and congratulated me. Raghav too joined us. Soon Kabir cut the cake and we called it a night.

So that's how I got proposed. I wasn't sure at first but in the last 4 months, Kabir and I have got really close. He cares about me and most importantly he loves me. We go out on dates, study together in the library, talk to each other on phone calls and that has helped us to know each other better. He's the famous guy of the college and that sometimes make me feel insecure about myself but nevermind, I have Kabir by side.
