Unknown Past part 2

Summary: When the past came to haunt Merlin. What will his friends do when they find out what happened to him those years ago? Arthur is King

◈ Merlin POV ◈

I rose quickly on my bed and breathed deeply trying to catch air. I had another nightmare about my time there with THEM. 

I was being punished for my first attempt to escape with Caleb. It was a mistake on our part because we knew too little about the terrain and about THEM our second attempt was more successful.

I hope Caleb is doing well and not following in their footsteps and being himself. I looked out the window and saw that it was time for me to wake up Arthur. 

When he became King four years ago he appointed me to the Warlock Court six months later after taking the throne. Even though I am no longer his servant but I wake him up in the morning.

Most of the servants are afraid to wake him up and this caused his presence at the meetings so we decided that I would take care of him in the morning. I wake him up and help him get dressed and after that the servants bring us breakfast and we eat together.

I entered his chamber quietly and slipped almost on his shirt. I quickly cast a spell and his chamber was sparkling clean. I walked calmly to the windows and opened the curtains 

'' Rise and Shine '' I said and got only a threatening look in response. I walked over to the bed 

'' It's time to get up Arthur. Don't make me take your pillow and blanket '' I said and before he could speak I took the covers from him. Arthur hid his head under the pillow 

'' Merlin !!! '' he said 

'' You have training with the knights and in a few moments the servants will bring our breakfasts. Get up '' I said and went to his closet and took out clothes for his training. I felt a hand on my shoulder 

'' Is everything okay Merlin? '' he said 

'' Yes everything is good Arthur don't worry to much. Why do you think something is wrong? '' I asked and looked at him. Arthur looked at me worried 

'' Don't lie Merlin I know something is wrong. You always wake me up with a happy smile and practically shout those three words. You said them calmly and avoid looking at me Merlin I have known you for ten years and that is enough for me to know that something is wrong. I will ask you again and this time you will tell me the truth. Is everything okay Merlin? '' he said seriously with worry. I smiled at my friend and sighed. I knew I had to tell him something because he wouldn't let me go 

'' Something happened 21 years ago and it caused me to have nightmares every now and then to this day. No matter what I do I can't forget it. It worries me because I've had a few of them maybe 10 or 15 over two years but lately I've been having nightmares almost every night more memories of it '' I said softly

'' I have a bad feeling about it Arthur. It could be a warning that something is coming. I know it couldn't be THEY because they died when I escaped together with Caleb '' I said and I saw curiosity and surprise on Arthur's face. I know he is surprised because I rarely say what bothers me 

'' Everything will be fine Merlin. We will stop anything that comes our way you know that. I can see that you don't want to talk about what happened but you have to promise to tell me if you have another nightmare. Even if you wake up in the night you can come to me. I don't want you to deal with this alone '' Arthur said and pulled me into a hug. I reciprocated it right away
