Eleni's Pov

It's a few days after the ball which means ...

It's Christmas Day.

The ball was amazing. I don't know how to ever thank Olly.

I was told to arrive at my mums new address at exactly half past two. It's roughly 2hours from where i live now meaning I will have to leave some where between 12.15 and 12.30.

I feel like I should be more excited but I'm really not, all I can feel is anxiety coursing through me. I put on a comfortable outfit and put Muffin on her leash. We walk to be dads grave to leave some flowers. I leave a bouquet with a Christmas arrangement of flowers. I sit there for a few moments and just breathe. Around 20 minutes passes and I decide it would probably be best to go home and get ready.

I have an outfit planned out. I think it's really cute.

I have a short black dress with some lace details on the top half, I have paired it with some burgundy kitten heels. I have my hair in a half up half down with a ribbon. My makeup if natural yet a bit more than I would usually do. I wear an oversized black blazer considering it is the middle of winter and that's it.

It's about ten past twelve but I decide to leave anyways thinking I will buy a gift on the way. I already have one for my mum but I probably need something nice for her upon arrival.

By the time I arrive at her house it is twenty past two but I decide she would appreciate if I was early. I grab both of her gifts and walk up the driveway. The house is really beautiful. I has big windows and is very old style. I take i big breath before I ring the doorbell and wait.

The door is flung upon and there she stands.

The second she sees me her face turns to one of disapproval.

"Oh it's you" she says scanning the gifts in my hands.

"Yes it's me" "happy christmas mum" I say trying to sound enthusiastic.

"I told you not to come until half past" she says looking back at me.

"Oh yes , I'm sorry I didn't know it would be a-

"Get in" she says not even looking at me.

"I got you these" "this one is just a thanks for inviting me" I say handing her the roses I bought her on the way.

She grabs them out of my hand and walks off, no words exchanged.

I follow quietly.

I walk into the dining room only to find christmas celebrations had already begun. There was empty glasses scattered around the place and all the kids had already opened their presents.

From what I could see it looked as though it was my mum, her new husband, their two kids ( one belonging to my mum who is 4 months old and one that is her husbands child from another marriage), my grandparents on my mums side, my auntie and her family and then a lot of my mums husbands family. In total I would say there is roughly 20 people in the house.

I walk into the room only to be met with silence and stares.

"Oh I didn't think she was coming" my mums husband says, nothing but pure disgust in his voice.

"Who died, it looks like you're dressed for a funeral" my auntie says looking me up and down while laughing.

I don't know what to say. So I stand there.

After a few minutes of just being stared at the conversation resumes to what it was before I walked in.

By the time half four rolls around I desperately want to leave. Unfortunately for me dinner is just being served.
